About 20 years ago, I observed one large asteroid and several other smaller asteroids flying beside and around it during a meteor shower. It was really cool! Ever since then whenever I check out the meteor showers, I never see asteroids flying by anymore, but only meteors coming through the atmosphere.

Yes when I was about 15 in Texas on the lake near Brownwood . It was low enough to hear and although there is no good reference I think it might of been as big as a 18 wheeler. I am 76 now.

How do you know it was an asteroid, friend? If it was an asteroid, it would still be in space. If it came down to Earth, in pieces, then it broke up and became a cluster of meteors. The impact survivors would have been meteorites.

Asteroids are generally 100 meters across and larger. Meteors are generally 50 meters and smaller.

I have my doubts that what you saw was "asteroid " class. Got specific location, date and time? I'll look it up.
