I don't get it. Why would wrestling fans say that this Vince McMahon stroyline is a desperate way to get people to watch. Raw has been the #1 TV show on cable. Smackdown! is the most watched TV show on friday nights. They make over 500 million dollars on every pay-per-view. Double that for Wrestlemania. So why should stoop so low just to get ratings?

WWE and USA Network admit that they need to increase ratings, and that the Mr. McMahon "death" storyline is to aid in that. RAW is the top-ranked show on cable, but it is still expensive to produce and needs to increase its audience to generate more advertising dollars. That is also why the draft had so many top-tier stars move to RAW. They are trying to generate more interest in their flagship show.

Vinnie has everything, but he has nothing.....that's what I told friends when he bought WCW for the library of tapes and his company became - at that point - the only nationwide operation in the U.S.

You mentioned all that the label has accomplished, but Vinnie has failed in every biz venture outside of wrestling. And - importantly - it is "funny" money he is playing with, since it is a publicly traded company, not like years back when it was family cash being dumped into a family biz.

It is as if Vinnie wants the wrestling product to branch out into a prime-time soap opera series, with wrestling as a backdrop. Ratings won't stop him, complaints from fans certainly won't stop him, even attendance at house shows won't stop him (since two of the three can be brushed off as the ciclical nature of the business).

Irate stockholders who go into the next shareholder's meeting with a plan to demand change from the top down can change the company. Vinnie has banked for years that the stockholders are as stupid as the NWA promoters he knocked out of the biz years ago.

I hope they get their act together and give Vinnie a reality storyline that will shake the foundation of the company. There won't be cameras at that match, though.

perhaps because of the fact WWE championship grew to become into working a similar drained faces in the time of the identify. Cena, Orton, HHH rinse and repeat. attempt and run some new blood in there, seize the mind's eye of somebody that has no longer been into wrestling and placed across in clean blood fairly than save buying and merchandising a similar contenders lower back and forth between uncooked and Smackdown. Sheamus has respectable issues to make him a champion. exterior the certainty he's powerful sufficient to make others look respectable. His maneuvers are none rigidity and look respectable. and that they've circulate away his fighters without harm. look at your champions. None of their strikes are occupation threatening with a misstep. the corporate seems to a champ to be in shape and able to artwork a week. they seek for them to be waiting to journey their opponent with strikes that isn't injury. Cena- physique slam and a submission carry Orton- an uncomplicated slam face first with him waiting to guard the pinnacle. RKO HHH= Holds someones hands and hits face first. i know wrestling is pretend, although some ending strikes are nonetheless risky. Mysterio has injury himself quite a few situations along with his rope techniques. No severe flyer would be champion for an prolonged identify reign. Champs are solid sufficient to help their fighters land the strikes, with bodies sufficiently massive to make respectable flaws. Sheamus had that and that they went with it. Cena and orton have been getting booed as that they had overdone one yet another.

Because the usa network wants them to return to the soap opera storylines that made them popular in the 90's. Ratings aren't as good as they used to be so do the math.
