i have three rabbits that i keep in my apartment but i clean their cages frequently. However, i am worried that because rabbit urine contains ammonia, it might be detrimental to my health...any ideas or suggestions? hope im not slowly becoming brain damaged....

rabbit urine can be detrimental to humans if left to build up. just change the cage frequently and dispose of the waste outside the apartment and if u feel the smell is a little strong open a window for half hour or so

No, it is not detrimental. If you were in the building like all the the time and it did not have proper ventilation, then it might be.

I clean my rabbit's cage everyday, for 1 whole year--- never affected me!

i've had house rabbits all of my life. i don't have any illness from it. i do know that pregnant women are not supposed to clean litter boxes but i don't know anyone has followed that rule. you'll be just fine.

my litter box ispose is a fancy litter box..it has a hood that absorbs the ammonia smell.i clean my buns litter box everyfew days.
