Odd question, I know. I'm just curious. This is my first pregnancy and I'm scared financially(like most other first time mom's haha)!

Did you have your baby ON your due date? After? When abouts? I want to know about your FIRST baby.. not 2nd or 3rd.. I just wanted to see what was more common! =)

My first and only baby was born 5 days past his due date. He was actually born on the date that showed up as the due date from the measurements on our first ultrasound at 9 weeks. I've heard from others that this early ultrasound yields the best due date, so if you've had that ultrasound maybe keep that date in mind. Of course, babies come when they want. My doctor schedules inductions for 41 weeks, so I thought I had 2 days to go, and then surprise! Just enjoy every moment and relax, he/she will come when they want. And don't count on whether or not your belly has "dropped" or how dilated you are, etc. That doesn't matter. Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy!

First baby was due September 16th.
Beginning of August was told by the doctor that I would go any time and needed to stop working. On August 6th I stayed home all day alone playing solitaire until I could no longer see straight...Yes, I was very very bored after a while.
I was slooooowly leaking water but they were concerned about the weight of the baby so we waited,,,,,,,,,
On August 31st the doctor said...that's it ya gotta go...so I reported for duty that morning and at 2 o'clock in the afternoon after being induced I had a 6 pound baby boy....awwww

It's been a long time, but my first baby was two weeks late, and my labor was very long. Stay as active as you can during your pregnancy, and it will help your labor. I didn't know that during my first pregnancy, but learned that later. What a difference an active life made with the other babies! Walk as much as you can, daily is best. Carry on your life as usual, and I'm sure you'll be just fine. It's very normal to be scared, so know that you're like everyone else. Best of luck!

I delivered two weeks early. The day I went into labor my doctor had said that I wouldn't deliver for another week. My husband and I accidentally induced. It was supposed to be our last time until after the baby was born. It worked so well the first time that we used the same method to induce the second one at the same time.

Just keep in mind that your due date as that unspoke "plus or minus two weeks" added to it, since most doctors or women know exactly when ovulation and fertilization occurred.

Good luck!!

My first little guy was due right on The 4Th of July. He was due to be a fireworks baby. He came exactly a week early on The 28th of June. He couldn't wait to start the fireworks!
Having your first is scary. I remember we wondered how we were going to manage financially. We made it. He is 17 this year on the 28th. Hard to believe! Hang in there and relax. The minute you hold your beautiful baby and look into his/her eyes you know you will be just fine.

ok, I had gestational diabetes, and the doc thought my baby was too big, so they tried inducing me at 38, and 39 weeks. but it didn't work at all. so, on the 4th of july I went out walking and watched fireworks, went home and woke up at like 3 in the am, and I thought I peed the bed. went back to sleep after changing, and then got up i the morning around 7, and got wet again, it was my water that was broke. I went to the hospital around 11, and starting laboring, I had my baby next morning around 8:30 am, on my due date. so in all I was laboring for about 29 hours for my first. I'm still 30 weeks pregnant w/ my second

39 weeks and 5 days
Due date was January 10th and had him on January 5th. I worked all the way up until I went into labor. Luckily I wasn't at work when it happened. They say most first pregnancies are late, but you really never know. That baby decides when it's ready to make its appearance! Good Luck!

I went into labor and went to the ER. When they called my Dr., she apparently couldn't be bothered and gave me medicine that stopped the labor. She told me that the medicine was "muscle relaxers".

My son was born one week later. He got stuck in the birth canal and breathed in meconium. He had to be on oxygen for 2 or 3 days. Thank God he was okay after that.

Today, he is a vital, handsome, 17 year old young man.

I wish you best of luck and a way better attending physician than I had. I am so glad that monster doesn't practice as an obstetrician anymore.

My son (he's my only child) was born 8 days past his due date. Statistically, since the cervix is firmer with first-time moms, the baby tends to be a little later than any subsequent children.
