Hi, I bought a dress which was a 5/6 (American) and I was wondering what size this is in britian. I'm not sure if ive worded this question very well, but hopefully someone knows,

American Size 5/6 is between a 8 an a 10 in the UK. A colleague of mine at work is trying to sell an American Size 4 dress and according to her it is a UK Size 8.

An American 6 is a UK size 10. Just add 4 sizes to the US one and you have the UK size.
It is definitely a 10. If you want to know for sure, go to The Gap and look at their labels. You will see both UK and US sizes on the tag. I have clothes from both countries and did 2 years of pattern making and studied in both countries. Definitely 10.
Size 8? Strange. I think people may be thinking about shoes - in which case a US 4 is a UK 6.

I'm guessing it's about size 10. Size 0 american is 4 UK, therefore 6 would probably be 10.

well american size 0 is brisitsh size 2 so working on that id say 5/6 is an 8

i know that a length 0 over there's a length 4 to us. a length one is a 6 to us so it in simple terms contains on like that. examine it up on the internet there could desire to be lots of education on there x
