2. They have capacity to stop it, but doing nothing.

You're damn straight they are. PNAC was planning the second Iraq war back in the 90's! Everybody in AIPAC should be expelled from the United States as their loyalty resides with Israel.

what is interesting is that the roots of the Israeli right wing in the vicious Zionist "Irgun" and the "Stern gang " is never raised (as is the cover up of the attack on the USS Liberty 40 years ago this month) in all the American media or mainstream US political discourse.

Have they blown up somebody for not agreeing with them? Do they ingage in violence against civilians? Hamas has vowed to continue bombing civilian targets and wants to impose Islamic law on Gaza (even though not all Palestinians are Muslim). How can you possibly compare the two (four)?
