addictive. Y!A, like gambling, gives us what is called "intermittent gratification" with the number of answers we get, the number of stars we get, the number of thumbs-up we get, and the number of best answers we get. These "little victories" release the hormone dopamine which can lead to addiction. So, if you find yourself spending a little too much time on Y!A, you may want to take a little break.

Reaching new levels is another "little victory" that I forgot to mention.

I'm not addictive...but I agree there are some people on here that are on like level 6 and I'm like...what do you guys do? Do you not go out? But then I realize that these people actually make a difference. They help other people out. I was looking at some resolved questions and the answers from the Top Contributors were really good. So for some people..it's not an addiction...but it's a desire or a hobby to help people out and I believe that's really beneficial to society.

I know I am addicted. I can't stop. I now need to get to level 5. Maybe one day they will have a section that helps with the addiction and some of us can get help.

Yup. I am aware. I only found out about intermittent gratification now though. I know about delayed gratification but besides that, nothing else. :)

Yes, I am currently stealing company time so I can be on YA. If I get fired I am hoping that I will able to get some sort of assistance and use YA as an excuse. (Joking)
