How would this impact the rest of the world? Would it have any impact? Is it a good idea to change language patterns often?

Language patterns do change. We no longer say "thee" or "thou," for instance, and new words are added to the dictionary as the language evolves. ("Google" as a verb, for example.)

I do fear that standard sentence structure and punctuation is already being laid aside, and I believe the detriment to that is counter to using language in the first place: Inaccurate writing can lead to miscommunication. I see it here in Yahoo! Answers every time I come on this site. I don't think texting style should be acceptable in any other place but texting. I think the shortening of expression will lead to very little actually being expressed. We can certainly point and grunt and get some basic message across, but give me the richness of the full use of the language any day!

Babel in Bablyon...ever been self-taught and decided to try and read Milton..very hard...I am an anarchist in most regards..."..what ever you're for I'm against it.." (Groucho Marx)..but I have a pole up my bum concerning grammar...a more purer form of communication cannot be any worse than ideas foisted by media controllers..words are added all the time but changing patterns can only add to the confusion that befuddles and shadows us.Manipulation be damned!
