Well, my sister's first car was a 1950 something Hearst ambulance. White and red, said ambulance on it and everything. The emergence lights and siren didn't work ( because it would have been illigal. Now that I have set up the story:

We used to put on mens very large white shirts 2 of us in the front seat and 1 in the back with the "body".(one of us under a white sheet lying on a lounge chair) Of course all of us wanted to be the dead person. Anyway we would get up on the freeway and start driving. When someone yelled "OK" the "dead" person would rise up. We scared the crap out of so many people. Lots of laughs. Oh this happened back in the 70s when I was a 17-18 years old. I wouldn't recomend it today.

Our first car was a Ford Fiesta and we just loved it, that old heap of junk took us all over the place for 2 solid years before she gave up the ghost and had to be sold for scrap.

I was ashamed to have a little red wagon for a car when I was 22. It was one of the many things that destroyed my "I'm the man" vibes on my dates.

I had an old hand-me-down triumph dolomite, it was brown but it had a sunroof and a beautiful walnut dashboard. I loved that car cos I had just passed my test and I used to whizz about all over the place in it!

My first car was a 1990 Hyundai Excel. Yes, it was horrible. But the damn thing ran great! Never had any problems with it. It was just ugly and embarassing. Had no A/C or power anything. But hey....great gas mileage.

1974 Pontiac Ventura, white, four doors, GM 350, baby moon hub caps.

Ashamed? Not on your life. I loved that car. It would flat scream, but it was the kind of car to get yourself killed in.
