The pounds are gone but the cards etc are important so yes I have the money and I get in touch and when he picks up the wallet he should give me more for ringing him up because I say there was no money in the wallet .~~

KARMA!

So yes. Working in clubs all the time I find all kinds of crap. Cell phones, wallets, purses, $200 scarfs, .........unlike most people, I make sure it goes back to the owner! People are SO shady these days.

Altruistic answer:Definately, that's probably someone's rent money or for something important. I put myself in their place & think about how much hassle I would have if I lost 100£...
Down to earth answer: (and if they are rich enough just to carry around that much cash than maybe they'd give me a reward.)

PS for all those who said "we don't have pounds here so the money is usless" wake up! £100 is about 200$ US!

A wallet that weighs 100 lbs would be difficult to carry any great distances... Is it a sack of coins?

Yes. You never know that person's circumstances--that might be his last 100. The feeling you get from doing the right thing is priceless compared to how you would feel spending someone else's hard earned money. Your returning it to him or her is a chance to renew his or her faith in humanity too.

Depends on who saw me find the wallet. If I was reasonably sure I was not seen and I wasn't on some hidden camera somewhere, I'd keep the whole thing. Probably max out the credit cards too while I was at it, and try to steal the guy's identity.

it depends what financial situation i am in when i find the wallet with a 100 pounds. and depends who the owner was. if it was someone i know and im on friendly terms with the person, sure. if it was my enemy, no way :) a stranger...hmmm...depends where they live. if its the slums or red light district then..prob not. if its a safe area sure why not.

Of course I would - just as I hope some kind soul would do the same for me if I lost my purse with about $200 AUD in it....! It's too much to lose and never see again - almost a weeks wages (part-time worker)

Yes I would . I lost my purse once and a lady called me later that evening and we met at a coffee shop she returned my purse and said she wouldn't let me pay her for her trouble, but I could buy her a cup of coffee. That was 24 years ago and we are still very good friends.
