sportsguy, I see what you are saying, but do compare Cook with Head. A Big man is what the lakers need, and a big man who can shoot from the outside is a rare commodity in the NBA, so I dont think that the Lakers should trade him away for Head. They have 2 point guards already, and Phil Jackson likes bigger guards, he doesnt believe in the traditional point guard system. I d rather be happy if they got a rugged rebounding PF for Cook, not another little guy.

... and agree with you about Bynum.

Jason Kidd is the only exception when it comes to PG. In Phil Jackson's system, he would be more of a Pippen than himself.

it is another bad move

so kobe wants out
its posted on his website

brian cook for luther head would be a disaster...

As you said they need tall pf not short players

and also much better ball handlers so much turnovers
made everytime... so i say there is a fine line between making terrific moves and horrible moves and that line is shifted to the left if the terrific moves are to the left... making ever more horrible mistakes

You could get a lot more for Luther Head than Brian Cook.
I think the Lakers should make this trade if the offer is just Brian Cook for L Head- straight-up.

Head is an incredible 3-point shooter, who can pass, and actually plays defense! Would be another scorer and defender to play well with Kobe.

He is stuck behind Rafer "Skip to my Lou" Alston in Houston.

I hear you on the horrible moves the Lakers have made, but what really dumbfounds me is the love-affair with slow-footed, no hands, Andrew Bynum. If he could have been moved in the proposed Jason Kidd deal in February, that WAS a big error.

Think about some of the trades that they haven't MADE.

I think Mitch Kupchak is only good at making bad deals. Brian Cook is worth more than Luther Head plus Cook is a big man and the team needs him more than a point guard who's not even that good. Mitch Kupchak is making a bad situation worse. Bad deals after bad deals. This guy should be fired. Get Jerry West! Or anyone. Anyone might do better than him.

if it is straight up i'd do it in a heartbeat. the lakers don't need this waste-of-height guy. it no wonder that my favorite sportstalk guy calls him puppycrap. he's the softest thing on the planet.

luther head could be an instant offensive type person off the bench for the lakers

Ill tell you what.. Brian Cook is as soft as they come in the NBA.. Luther Head is a major upgrade over Farmar and Smush Parker.. Head is a perfect fit for the Triangle offense and he can shoot the 3

I think that would be a bad move. Luther Head isn't worth as much as Cook. I would be surprised if it happened.

Mitch Kupchak should be fired...immediately, if not sooner...you or I could do a better job than this hole he's digging.

there is no substance to that rumor...classical case of some members of the Houston media throwing it out there to create something out of nothing.
