There was no reason you were born .It was out of pleasure . But then that pleasure acquired a direction and a purpose.

Good if YOU do not care .Stay uncommitted

There is a certain reason in search for reason apart from the better understanding of why things happen. We like to know what will happen next upon the basis of what happened in the past. We like to make sure that good things always happen and bad things never. We can see that the world at large and the universe far too big for us to be able to do anything about the possibilities of things happening, like, for instance, natural catastrophes and cosmic scale disasters. So why bother? Why worry at all?

The fact is that we are seldom capable of worrying for the moment to come. All things take place in the moment present, and in the time now. We can understand, or class the worries of our present moment, as future apprehensions but there is no denying in the fact that they are essentially worries of the present. What might happen in the future may begin and then end in an instant, but our concerns are always lengthy ones.

There is nothing wrong with the human mind. It is just that we want to ensure that the present moment we have is a moment of fulfilment, that the time now is the time worthy of living. We expect and want to ensure that human civilisation would last forever. We know that we might not live longer than the lifespan of a normal person but if we are sure that our children and their children will live one than we can understand that there has been some purpose to our life, and that life has not been just an accident that happened without any reason.

Well, if everybody takes the attitude that the world will always be F-Up no matter what, nothing good is going to get done. So maybe you should quit blaming the world for everything and see if you can influence it in a positive way.

As to whether we care whether it happens for a reason or not? Inquisitive minds want to know. I mean, sure, if you just sit there and let everything happen to you, as opposed to doing things you want to do and take interest in the world, you'll just be cultivating that "what's the point?" attitude, but you'll have no one to blame but yourself for the negative feelings it fosters.

Weeell, if got made maramlade of by a plane that just crashed on my head, because some maniacs took it and got the situation out of control, and the only reason is Mr. Collins the airport security officer was late five mins for the job because a kid poked through his cars tires I'd rather die believing that there WAS a reason behind it..

But wait, that's for dying, but for living? No. Well, if you're thinking about afterlife, then it gets more optimistic. Reason, getting paid for stuff, you know.

I care a lot! Whether things happen for a reason or not. Should the more we look forward to make the world a nice place to stay? Should we make our lives more fruitful than whine over things that are not good to see?

Everything really happens for a reason. And it's true, the world is f*ed up. But I still believe that every man can change the world if he shows the world how to love.

Its not only the basis for most religion; it give many people solace to believe their actions effect the whole of human kind.
You're right, of course, about the long term. In about 5 billion years or so, our sun will go super nova and eliminate all the planets in its system. But neither of us will be around so we might as well get used to the way things are.

I don't think it's true that everything happens for a reason... subsequently I don't care when people say that.

I do however think that like a deck of cards, you play whatever you get dealt and the better you play your cards, the better things could work out..... or not.

You just gotta learn to bluff and hope you're holding a wild card.
