Awww probably not got much room left to move around in!!

However, if you are at all worried about the lack of movement, call your midwife or pop into the delivery suite at your local hospital and get checked out.

Good luck - exciting times ahead for you :)

this does happen late on in the pregnancy.

but if u are unsure, dont take the word of anyone on here for granted.
go to see ur doctor/nurse/midwife straight away to make sure everything is ok.
in the final week of my partners pregnancy, we went to the hospital every day for five days because we were unsure, we were at the same hospital, being told the same things, every day, the midwives didnt mind at all, because all they want is to deliver healthy babies with healthy mothers.
in the end, the head consultant doctor told us they would have to do a 'sweep' (which, if my memory serves me correct, is separating the cervix from the uterus to try to break the waters and see how dilated u are - dont quote me on that tho.) to see if they can determine wether or not my partner was ready, and they then broke her waters artificially having been induced an hour earlier.
that was at seven pm on friday the 3rd november.
By 5 o clock the next morning, we had a beautiful little baby boy in our arms.
hope this helps you.
take care.
good luck.x

At 38 weeks, you should still receive movements, just logically somewhat less due to the baby's growth in your womb. I don't want this to be taken cruel, on the contrary darlin', wouldn't it be faster to phone your OB/GYN or midwife, or NHS (whoever has been taking care of your prenatal care so far) than go and log on, get to Yahoo Answers, and key in your question? I do know that as the baby gets older inutero he or she may take more naps, but you should never go longer than 30 mts. without feeling any movement. I simply suggest calling or going to your prenatal care-taker-**remember, the NHS actually is easy and thorough in helping when you call them. Your life is about to be blessed immensely, and it will be changed forever. I wish you all the best, please have it checked NOW!

yes this is perfectly normal to not feel your baby move as much during the last few weeks. The baby doesn't have a lot of room to move around. But to ease your mind, just check with the doctor when you go for your weekly checkups. They should be checking for a heartbeat and whether the baby's head is down for delivery.

Yeah hun..the closer you get to your due date the less the baby tends to move.. the reason for this is coz the baby has gotton so big and you womb has stopped growing so there is limited space for the baby to move in now..you should still feel little kicks and streching now and then but if you havent felt anything at all and are experiencing pain i sugget you go see a doc..

Good luck!

It is actually quite normal for your babies moving to decrease or even appear to stop around that time of pregnancy. The baby is probabaly already in the position it needs to be in for birth, space is getting tight in there, i wouldnt worry to much about it, unless there is absolutely no movement whatsoever for a long period of time, then i would say to take an extra visit to the doctor, but you dont have much longer to go, i had mine around that time.

if you're genuinely concerned, call your OB and they'll do a quick ultrasound to make sure the heartbeat sounds fine. I've never known a woman to say their baby doesn't move around much this late in a pregnancy, but the baby may be small relative to the space available and you just don't feel it moving.

I think it is normal, when I was 38 weeks, I didnt feel my baby move very much but when she did my stomach would move all over the place, I should'nt think there is much room left for it to move now.

Although at this stage the baby is big & hasn't got lot of space to move you should at least feel 10 'kicks' from the baby. Best to have it checked by your midwife or at the maternity hospital.

it does slow down when your bigger as the baby has grown and doesnt have alot of room to move about in.
you should try counting the movements in one day. if its less than 10 then i would go to the mat unit and they will check it out for you.

best of luck
