Can another person's desires contol me into doing what is "attracted" to them if they understand "The Secret."

Because I guess that an oil company or banking giant CEO, or a hypnotist, or an adertising professional for junk foods must really know "the secret."

Am I being too cynical? Sometimes my passion for questioning can get too full of itself...

Alternativley, and perhaps more optimistically:

If we all knew the secret, what would happen?

Nahh, your on the right track.

Look up "New Thought" in a search engine. This crap has been around for years.

The whole thing is shameful. Taking money from desperate people who need help is a disgrace.

No one needs the secret. There is no secret. All you have to do to be successful is keep trying.

Positive thinking of this sort has been around forever - prayer is one form of it. It works for people who do not have deeply embedded conflicts and whose learned ego is not a major obstacle.

Pure desire causes people and events to pop up that align with your intention and choice. It works whether you're an ad exec seeking a new way to sell popcorn, or a scientist developing a cure for something. "Seek and ye shall find, knock and the door will open," is the way our responsive reality operates as a mirror of mind.

The problem is, the more intelligent you are, the more apt you are to become conflicted through the inappropriate behavior of others, and if what you are 'SERIOUS' about is a more complex or abstract passion, the "Secret" won't be of much help in dumping the ego.

If all of you would stop being so damned cynical and just put some effort into appreciating your lives, you find out about the Secret. It may be going over "old territory," but it opens a person up to possibilities, and there's nothing wrong with that.

"The Secret" is a guide to achieving your own personal goals. The law of attraction is that like attracts like so what you focus on comes about. Focus on bad, you get bad, focus on good, you get good. The Secret is a way of achieving affirmative thought and realizing potential in yourself. Read the book or better yet, get the video. It has made a difference in my life. There is also a set of CD's that you can listen to. I play the CD's in my car when doing errands. The universe listens, so go for the good stuff. Blessings on you.

Stop thinking so much. How do you know you are on the road to spirtuality...? You stop thinking so much , rationalizing and just accept. You are still putting out that energy to attract. If you are cynical you attract cynical.Don't hold a rally to protest the War, hold a rally for Peace. One is projecting positivty the other isn't... You isn't.

I think that if you think bad thoughts you attract them to you. But you can't take it so seriously that you think you can actually change things by thought and not by taking action.
People are attracted to other people that exude self confidence. So if you believe in yourself and your abilities more doors will open for you.

If you feel you are needy you will attract needy people..in this sense yes we do attract, not thats it bad or good. whatever you feel about yourself is what you attract, this is no secret..

its when something is implanted in you, like I will not be happy unless I have a new Caddy, that the advertisers are trying to tap into.

Toda y , how well you preserve secret, it is information technology and moollah .

I understand that the attraction stems from veil of secrecy .Secret is mystical and once if you do not know it , you miss a part of your being itself . Like , you do not feel at ease unless you know 'it ' . Attraction is the result of secret. Sex itself is best under veil . That's the reason a woman controls carnal desires of a man l

No.
It's what less mystically-minded motivational speakers used to refer to as the power of suggestion. Its use is also limited with how much effort (that's right effort) you're willing to put into it through good old fashioned stick-to-itness, planning and hard work.

Nothing new under the sun.
