It's called a MODEM. And you should be able to find it in the device manager.

If not, it'll be one of the COM ports.

It depends on what brand your modem is. If you're running Windows XP, and the drivers for your modem are installed, it should be under the "Modems" tab of your Device Manager. However, if it doesn't have the drivers installed, it may appear under... something like "Unknown Devices" or something like that.

Eg. Mine appears as Agere Systems AC'97 Modem (I don't use the modem though...)

try a usb port or v.17 port.
normally u wont find much about it on device managers.

Device = modem
Port = usually COM1 or COM4

If you've not got a modem or not loaded the driver then it won't have one.

that port is the output of your _modem_
