Try opening some doors/windows up or investing in a fly swatter. I hate um', too. Especially when you are trying to sleep at night and they are buzzing around.
But in answer to your question, house flies can live 10-25 days. Better get swatting!

It seems you got your answer but remember, even if this one dies, it may try to find a cozy home to have some babies. I've used fly strips- they're a long sticky strand, it gets 'em every time. They're attracted to it, fly into and get glued to it.

Best thing to do is remove the food from the cupboard and SPRAY em. flies prolly live for a few months and not only that they breed and make MORE flies to replace em, it's a never ending cycle.

I had one last autumn that lasted four days then vanished, little bugg'er could see me coming with the rolled up paper every time! Then this spring he emerged again! I know its him as I had all my windows covered in anti-fly mesh over winter! It's my nemesis and we are now at war because thanks to the fly mesh he can't get out!

My dad said flys only live 24 hours !!!!!!!

you are welcome to borrow my fly catching whippet - you will however need to provide him with his bus fare (both ways) and a pair of new chopsticks.
About 4 days if you don't choose the whippet option.
