I have a fish and a turtle and when I was cleaning the bowl, the bowl accidentally broke so now my goldfish is in a vase. Should I move my fish in with my turtle? Will my turtle bite my fish?

I just asked my friend, she has done that when she was a child, said the gold fish lastest a couple of days but the turtle bit the fish and the fish ended up jumping out of the tank with the turtle and sufficated. By the time they found the fish, the fish had already turned into dried fish.

Turtles and sliders are all carnivorous so will eat any fish that is put in with them. Keep them apart.
Care sheets for both aquariums and RES are available free on my web site
I own a pet and aquatic store

I would strongly suggest no. There is a video in the source link showing how tasty a goldfish can be to a turtle. In the wild fish will often form a large part of the diet so it is little wonder that they enjoy a golden scaled snack.

Depending on the size of your turtle and your fish it could work. But it would be more luck than science.
I would not do it. The fish could probably live in the vase for a short period of time until you can get a new tank.

good luck to you

Hi, You must not put your Goldfish in with your turtle or he will get eaten, look on your bowl breaking as a great opportunity to get your Goldfish the lovely new 20 gallon home you've been promising yourself for ages-your fish will thank you for it too!

I wouldn't put it in UNLESS the turtle was a soft-shell turtle. Although we had a snapping turtle and goldfish living together for years, I think we were just lucky.

its not a good thing that you will place your fish with the turtle. turtle eats fish. goldfish is a fish... turtle eats goldfish. there you go... and may i please know if your turtle lives in the vase ? and ifever you place your goldfish in the vase, it would die even if you don't have the turtle. goldfishes need alot of space and should have an adequate space for them to grow and move.

that's it/...

enjoy and good luck=)

No. Your turtle will mostly like eat it. I have a red eared slider and he eats the fish, the snails, and the plants. You should feed your turtle a fish once or twice weekly.

I don't think that you should put your turtle and goldfish together. most turtles are snappy and bitey so once you put your fish with your turtle, your fish will be eaten by the turtle. my advice... dont put your fish in your turtle's tank. buy a new tank perfectly for your fish.

dear fellaw... turtle is very unpridictable to keep with fish as if they will not get proper diet they will ultimately hit the other fish organs like fins, tail and lungs too... they hit the fish very hard and normally it is recommended that to keep the turtle in aquarium that is having size more than 40 gallon to keep couple of fish in it... but size of turtle must be smaller than the fish to avoid any mishappening
