Interesting question, hard to answer because it depends on "which end" you're talking about
A 1GB Ipod - about $70 for a shuffle
A loaf of bread- Homemade Amish bread next door $1.50
a bottle of wine- varies, a nice every day red from a local vineyard is about $10, you can go up or down in price and quality
Meat: Ground chuck is about 1.99/lb. I prefer to buy mine from local producers though. I can get a fresh, dressed, free range chicken for $4
A gym contract-none in the rural area where I live, but in the big town where I work, about $45 a month for a family.
Renting a DVD- a couple of bucks
renting an apartment- small town near home, $400 for 2 BR no utilities included but water, large town where I work, $600 and up for same
6 beers - I think about 3-4 bucks, but not really a beer drinker.
a glass of wine- varies
a boobjob-my friend paid 4K
a cat- adopted from the shelter for about $25
a burger - cheap fast food for a buck, nice sit down for about $5
