Just proves the old saying

When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. Maybe you need to re-arm the law abiding people and have laws that clearly state they can shoot to kill any intruder in their homes or attacking their persons.

I've seen people who brought a knife to a gun fight. That would be an easy way to solve the knife problem.

The gun problem: Only two kinds of people don't want me to own a gun. Those are complete idiots and criminals. I am a law abiding citizen and have owned guns since I was able to carry one out into a field with my father to hunt. I have never commited a crime and there is no danger of me suddenly robbing a liquor store just because I have a gun in my car.

The government should make prison sentences longer for people that committ violent crimes, build more prisons to lock the bad guys up in, and increase funding for police departments. If they did that instead of worrying about my guns things would improve.

I am a street cop in a fairly large city and have no problem with law abiding responsible people owning guns. If you make it illegal for people to own guns then only criminals will have them.

Like drugs, guns can easily be obtained if you have the money. You can't wipe out the problem, but they can make it harder for someone to buy a gun. I don't know what the laws are in the UK, but they have to put a stop to free gun ownership. Another step is for parents who have guns in their home for whatever reason, to be more careful of how the guns are stored. Putting them in a glass case to "admire" is not going to stop someone who is bent on destruction from getting his/her hands on it.

I understand that in some parts of the world guns are needed in a household or shop to help defend ones life. The problem is that they are not always used correctly. People who are not properly trained to react in times of need can shoot the wrong people under panic. Unfortunately, I can't offer any other solution to protecting ones self but banning home owners, hunters and shop owners would be a step in lowering the tragic events which take place more and more often.

I thought guns were banned in the UK for private citizens. How is this possible?

A famous comedian once said that the solution to gun crime is to make bullets cost $5000 a piece. Then only the rich could afford to shoot anyone.

If a murder is committed...a tree and a rope has always worked to insure that the monster will never commit another crime.

The solution is very simple, but it is not likely to happen. To get rid of violence and evil, all we have to do is to change the hearts and attitudes of those who commit crime and violence. Man sometime prefer hatred over love for each other.Killing each other, instead of helping and supporting each other.
