hi i was on anti depressents during teenage years.... 14-16, I was on two different types with Aroxpax being one of them
I have also read a few times this drug makes people more violent agitated and depressed...
I think the drug was giving me some really bad side effects... I was advised to keep taking them until I was 18-19....
I stoped taking these suddenly when I was 16 and it obviously caused bad relapses.......
I really have it a lot better under control but I have bad pot smoking habits and occasionally drinking habits..
I really want to kick these so I am not sure if I should go on anti-depressants again as I dont want to sink into those dark times again, and pot has in a sense really helped me as an alternative to very heavy anti-depressants.
I am now 21 and at school and these habits are really getting in the way of my study.
Can anyone give me some good advice because I want to be mentally more healthy and if I need be on anything, without it having bad side effects?

Hi thanks for answers so far, this is the problem, I have been to a doctor for heavy anti-depressants when I was 14.....
While I was on them I was so happy I didnt think I needed them any more 2 years later....
They also were giving me strange side effects and were really messing with my perception on life.....
The problem is pot helped me ease off them and helped me function a lot better than I had....
I cant explain the way I was feeling even on anti-depressants, but it didnt really seem to help.
I really want to take less drugs but pot makes me happy and anti-depressants didnt do it for me.
I have seen doctors and their solution is to put me on anti-depressants.
My last Psychologist didnt really see that much of a concern in my pot smoking and didnt really feel I needed anti-depressants if I didnt want them.
So I dont know if pot really is the problem or a solution.

Medicinal marijuana can be a very effective treatment for depression, and the side affects and risks are far less than the anti-depressents you are taking.

However, alcohol is a depressent. It would be canceling out most of the good the marijuana was doing you. If you want to see if marijuana will help you, stop drinking for a while, keep a journal of your emotions, and really figure it out.

i used to smoke pot and drink i did that for a long time 1 day i said to my self thats it no more so stopped hanging around with my freinds who did the same for about 6 months which ultimately changed my lifestyle and also made me depressed so doctor put me on prozacs it takes a while for it to work but it does help the downside of it is you cant sleep very well but the main thing i would suggest is stay away from people who do these things after its out of your system you can hangout with whomever you want without wanting a drink or smoke canabis is a dpressant not anti depressant that can contribute to some depreesion.the main thing is you will feel you got a new and better life.good luck pal.possitive attitude towards a drug that is bad also illegal is bad who ever your psychiatrist is should be rported to the authorities

I think for people who have the kinds of habits you do. Any drug is bad. Like the drinking and pot. I assume at least for a short while you feel it helps. That's why you do it. The best you can do for yourself. Is see a doctor and explain to the doctor the whole problem. And that you would like a treatment. That shows you how to live a life without having to depend on pills drinking or pot. In order to feel normal.

You should certainly stop smoking pot.You don`t need it and it will make everything alot worse.I think it was wrong of the doctor to prescribe to you anti-depressants at such a young age, unfortunately alot of them tend to give out medication without looking at other alternatives to helping people cope with depression. What about learning how to meditate or going to a health food store and buying natural remedies.Otherwise religion can be very theraputic depending on wheather you are religious at all .Trust me you don`t need drugs to make you feel good. Look around you, there is alot of goodness left in the world and you should focus on the positives in your life rather than the negative.Concentrate on your studies.Smile and be happy. You deserve it.Goodluck!

Mentally and physically we are not well if we do drugs, smoke cigarettes (they are all addictive) and alcohol. So the answer is simple. STOP DOING DRUGS, CIGARETTES AND ALCOHOL.

Take a Multivitamin Morning and night, eat healthy, these will make your body and mind healthy. Avoid all Mind altering prescription drugs.

I personally take about ten vitamins and mineral supplements daily, after about 3 weeks they made a huge difference in how I felt.

If you are depressed, have your hormone levels tested. Hypo-Thyroidism can cause depression.

Give a healthy life a try. You will be amazed at how much better you will feel.

basically bypass to your regular practitioner for a verify and tell him/her you experience you like an antidepressant and you do no longer want your mum and dad to appreciate. HIPAA regulations restrict sharing of affected person suggestions and in case you ask to exclude your mum and dad then they can't demonstrate the suggestions to them. Ask your regular practitioner approximately Lexapro 10mg consistent with day. He ought to have some samples to start you directly to work out in the event that they're going to help. If no longer there are different good drugs on the industry. could I recommend taking the loose kind amino acid Taurine. that's super with melancholy and is obtainable at any wellness foodstuff save. that's a organic substance your physique could be low in. It does help with melancholy. attempt that first. Take approximately 2-4 consistent with day and spot the way it does.

See depression treatments at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 2. From decades of personal experience, marijuana affects motivation, and interferes with the dopamine pleasure pathways in the brain, which can take a considerable time to recover from. Smoking it is nearly as bad as smoking tobacco (I shifted to magic muffins, until I was ready to give it away completely). Some people never recover their former abilities, such as in mathematics, or physics.

no you don't need to take drugs to resolve your problem you need to get some more excercise and eat healthy. Without a healthy body and healthy mind your slowly destroying yourself and sinking lower and lower self esteem. Also it would be a good idea to join a talk group where you can talk about your problems. Ask your doctor to get you a phycatriist then ask that phycatrist to get signed onto a talk group. That should help you out lots bye.

If you are using pot and alcohol, you do not have it under control. They are masking your symptoms.
Go see a doctor and explain your situation, including the medecines you used to take and their side effects. They may want to try you on a different type of med., but you need to go.
