I have been having a tooth ache like hell the last (month) or so. It has been bothering my almost nonstop until one time I noticed that the gun had a bump (what looks like a bump) over that tooth. Part of it is actually on the tooth (that goes down to about the middle of the tooth). I am going to a dentist soon, but does anyone know what this could be? The tooth had been capped when I was about 16-17yrs old because of a cavety

The bump is the infection trying to find a way out. If it pops, some of the pressure and pain will be released, but the infection is still there, and the pain will return even worse a few days/weeks later. Sounds like you need antibiotics quickly. The dentist will probably not treat the tooth the first visit if the infection is very bad, or if you have swelling. They will require you to be on an antibiotic first to minimize the infection, and give you pain meds. Your options are limited, probably no chance of saving the tooth. My guess is they will recommend extracting it. Sometimes a root canal can be done, but not always. Hope it gets better soon!

Why did you wait for so long before going to the dentist? It looks like your gums are inflamed because of that tooth. I just hope you will be able to save the tooth now. Always go to the dentist the same day you feel the pain cause it can get complicated.

From the way you described it, it is mostly likely that your wisdom tooth is trying to erupt.

Most dentist would advise in removing your third molars for oral hygiene purposes. As of the moment, you may take pain relievers to ease the pain or get to your dentist ASAP.

i go the same thing as you describe after i had my wisdom teeth out. it was definately rare, and i think it was because it was really swollen. not too worry though, s/he'll fix it by oushing it back and getting u to bite onto the swab they'll stick ontop. it may be painful if this the way they do it but it's WORTH it! i dont have a real good explanation for why your gums have grown over. gl.

Use HYDROGEN PEROXIDE to mouthwash and brush your teeth until you get to the dentist. It will heal the pain.

A Dentist actually capped your tooth because of a cavity?
Unbelievable.

if its right up the back on the bottom its your wisdom tooth. If its not there then you better save your money, as your nerve is dead and you have an abscess , this means you need a root canal, about $900.
