Cairn - North Qld - of course any city/town are hanging out for nurses - but there are plenty of jobs this way....pages of them in the weekends paper.
Warm / Tropical surrounded by rainforest and alot of beaches!
So much to do and see all the time and ALOT safer than the bigger cities. No traffic jams or overhead motorways or skyscrapers.
A lot to do with kids and the school systems here are great.

Anywhere in Australia is good. The "best" place depends on personal opinion. Northern NSW is a great place because I live there but I have also lived in many other places in all States and the NT. The most popular city, and the biggest is Sydney which is a wonderful place to live but you will also have a great time in any of the other cities. I would not put anywhere down because of personal preference for somewhere else.
Investigate job opportunities and the cost of housing etc. The cheapest and smallest of the capital cities are Hobart and Adelaide, both of which are delightful and might be just what you are looking for. Perth is rapidly becoming the most expensive overtaking Sydney with Melbourne catching up quickly. Brisbane is not far behind.

Nurses are in demand all over Australia. So you will not have any problem in getting a good job here. I live in Perth. It is a beautiful city with lovely beaches, surfing, fishing, and sunshine all the year round. Place is lovely. People are also good. Though public transport is not. But for young children to grow up, this place is great. Welcome to Australia.

Tasmania, Hobart. It is clean, i am sure you and your husband can find work. There is a big hospital there and lots of shops.. what is also great is that for you children, there is not much of the drug scene.. it is rather quiet but for yourself and your husband you can still find nice restaurants and places for entertainment. I come from Adelaide and even though it is a small city, we have a big problem of crime, murders and drug related crime. I think Tasmania is the perfect place for raising a family.

Brisbane would be my choice. Great weather for most of the year, nice city, not too big, not too small, heaps of entertainment and holiday activities for the kids, great choice in jobs for you and your husband, excellent schools, cycleways, concert halls, art gallery, friendly people and a choice in some very leafy suburbs not too far from the city.

Uno and gold fish are the only ones i will think of of on the 2nd.. yet there are hundreds of issues accessible to do. My infants are 17 months and 3 years previous and we sit down and shade, draw, play cover n seek for, and various diverse outdoors video games like t-ball, they prefer bouncing basketballs and etc..
