Any product, like Bitrex, that is used to keep cats and dogs out of your garden should work for foxes as well. Borrowing a dog is a good idea but the barking all night when the fox is active is going to pee off your neighbors.

Cover the area so it will not dig there they are kind of like a dog, kind of.... call pest control places and ask them what can you do to solve the problem on your own if this can be done, maybe some kind of repellent you can use, maybe deer pee, dog hair placed in the area, the fox is digging for a reason now what is it?? Food????

the kinder way to trap a fox other than shooting it is to plant a snare
this is basially a loop of barbed wire that is hidden on the groung ,when the fox steps on it it will tighten and cut into the foot.
ask somepeople what a snare is and how it works if i havent given you a great idea but they do work
they dont always catch their foot in it it could be their nose
treat with care

Lucky you, I've been trying to find a gardener to dig my garden for yonks. Seriously, I know wildlife can be a bit annoying, but they were here a long time before us, we as a human race are taking more and more of their habitat away from them so they have to interact more and more with us. Leave it alone, you shoul feel privileged that wildlife enters your life.

Well it can be very expensive. First buy a horse and a pack of hounds. Enlist your neighbours to join you with suitable mounts. Finally blow your horn on seeing the fox, loose the dogs and charge. Now wasn't that easy? As an alternative (No Joke) obtain some tiger or lion **** from the local Zoo, spread it around. you'll never see it again.

somehow make your garden less accessable than your neighbors. or simply show the fox your neighbors garden..
make him unwelcome.
black pepper sprinkled around might do it.. then again, is he really destroying that much?? perhaps you should plant a few more vegies where he digs and use his digging skill for some good..

My neighbours have a very large, "wild" (!) garden and foxes were regular inhabitants - they thought it was just another nice field.
They left when her new boyfriend arrived with his Rottie!
Maybe you could borrow a big dog from somewhere who would stake it out as his patch.
An Abysinnian boy cat would do the job, too!

it is in all probability an urban fox so most deterrents that you would use for a rural fox will not work as the urban variety are used to the sounds and smells of humans
your best bet is get in contact with the local RSPCA

1) Ask the local hunt
2) Contact environmental control at local council
3) Contact a pest control firm who may have the traps and the relevant poison or a firearm powerful enough (a shotgun isn't)
4) Put up some high fencing with an electric fence line at ground level

There are many ways to get rid of that fox! you could build a high voltage fence or a sound alarm detector on your area that detects movements outside (when turned on of course), you could use a weapon or try researching what makes fox scared of one thing, it might be smell or by sight!
