THe 93 Ford with 351 engine should get about 12 miles per gallon around town and as much as 18 miles per gallon on the freeway if you will stay close to the posted speed limits. The biggest variable is the driver and his right foot.

There are many factors involved that affect fuel consumption and just because an engine has a smaller displacement doesn't necessarily mean that it will get better fuel economy. These vehicles should get very close to the same but you may have maintenance issues with the Dodge such as worn spark plugs, dirty air filter, low tire pressures or even possibly an oxygen sensor that has degraded to the point where it is affecting fuel economy but not bad enough to where it is seen as a problem by the computer. Have it checked for maintenance needs and replace the oxygen sensor if the car has more than 80k . Good luck.

If this is the motor that's in the Impala SS, a friend of mine only gets about 15 in the city and 21 on the highway. It is a motor built for performance and not economy.
