It is amusing to me that people are vain enough to think they can affect the global climate ...good or bad.
The sun is heating the earth... not your SUV. Just like it is heating Mars, Pluto and all the other planets in our solar system. There arent any factories on Venus, yet it is heating up too.

We won't because we don't know how much warming we are producing.
The Greenhouse effect accounts for 20-30 degrees of global temperature. We're not exactly sure how much. Water vapor accounts for 90% of global warming, man-made CO2 accounts for less than 1%. Keep in mind that we don't really know the temperature of the globe, we sample a very small percentage. This inevitably leads to sampling errors. The size of the sampling error will be larger than the measurable amount of change that can be detected. We'll have to wait a century to notice any effects.

If we notice that hurricanes are not as strong for at least 3 to 7 seasons and tornadoes stop forming more often and the drought eases around the world and the missing lakes come back, then we know were doing something good.

we feel better, that's about the only measurable effect right now, and other environmental changes that aren't related to global warming, no water contamination, etc...
