Is there such a thing as a genuine religion?

Of course there is. However most of them are considered fanatics or cults if they actually practise what they preach. Now, if you are speaking about The True religion, that is a different story. Jesus gave a list of what the true christians would be like in the last days, which include : Meekness, loving, hated by the world, and followers of Christ, instead of traditions of man.

I would guess that all religions are genuine to the one that follows it out of choice, and in the end, is that all that matters. Your faith should help to fulfill you and make you happy, not just something you go through the motions of because you feel you need to do so.

what is religion you say. religion in this world today is bad because of many Antichrist. put it this way being a christian is not a religion is a relationship between you and Jesus Christ if you ever want to know what being a christian and having a relationship with he lord Jesus go and talk to a pastor but make sure that the pastors is talking about jesus Christ. many other religions have to have someone that is high in their religion(church) like Catholics so that only the (Fathers)can supposedly talk to god. religions just want your money and are not interested in the truth,they wan you to worship them and not the real god.

Hey, well Im Muslim and I'm more than confident in my beliefs..but I think that NO ONE can say for sure. The most we can do is stick to what we believe in, but we can never say any one religion is genuine or the "right" one...

Except you (Not your religion). All of others following their religion are genuine religion. Because they are strong believer of their own religion. Because they are not unbelievers or doubtful about the religion like you.

The synonyms of the world 'genuine' are:

real, authentic, indisputable, true, unadulterated, actual, legitimate, valid.

Pure might be also considered to be similar to the word 'genuine'.

There's in the bible a 'PURE' and 'UNDEFILED' religion.

'unadulterated' is one of the synonyms of 'genuine'.

Let's read James 1:27

guess that depends on who you ask...I am not sure what you mean are you meaning like pure or one that is strictly provable and real??

I believe my heart and view on my religion (Christianity) is pure and genuine, but I can't speak/type for the masses...One bad apple ruins the whole bunch you know the deal...there's some in every religion or thought sect.

As for "Satan's Own" up there...you sound like you have an inferiority complex buddy! No one makes fun of you for your own beliefs, so why must you bash Christians for theirs?
