Like it or not Forusall, you are part of mankind...

Forusall: Your ambitious attempt to be more than a man is cliche and tiresome.
I thought we grew out of feminism twenty years ago.
You may disapprove of a persons use of the english language but do not involve them in your inane inferiority complex.
We are human not huwoman....we are mankind not womankind.

Get over it.

Greatness may last a thousand years for a few and eternally for none. On the scale of earthly time, individual lives are but mere blinks of an eye. We're born, we live, we die and then you're not heard from ever again. There might be a tombstone or family tree made with your name on it, but eventually the tombstone weathers from age and who knows what media your family tree will be used. All the memories and accomplishments will be totally forgotten, unless you're a Hitler or Alexander the Great type person.

In a thousand years, your bones will be dust and no other trace of your existence will be seen, unless, of course you become fossilized for some reason, but even then, after thousands of years more, that will be disintegrated into dust. We influence the lives of our children and others, but they too will eventually die. So what's the point of living?

In astronomical terms, the Earth will eventually succumb to the supernova of our Sun, it's an astonomically certainty the earth will be burned to a crisp.

So does death render our lives meaningless. If we were immortal, that would be the ultimate in boredom, repetition, day after day, of doing the same thing for thousands of years (hundreds may be OK, but nothing beyond that)....but i digress, back to your question.

It all boils down to how creative we can be in the short period of time we have on this earth....Our activities need to be worthwhile for their own sake, not because they fulfill some supernatural transcendental purpose

i do not know about "man"kind, as i am not a man, but sure there are some that are apathetic, some that are passionate, and some that do not even know what being apathetic or passionate feels like...probably from too much t.v.....does it bother me, yes.....now, the next question would be....is womynkind apathetic?.....my answer would be the sameEDIT:...actually, i am only a part of mankind to the extent that you allow the english language to take it....i am human, yes, as far as "mankind" is concerned, i can choose to either be included or not......crawl out of your box, we all make mistakes, i was simply letting you know that i do not appriciate the language usage brought about by patriarchy, nor do i accept that jesus is white, which is the same thing....when it comes down to it

Yes to an extent Man has become apathetic to the very world he is living in.He has become largely insensitive to his very own species hence the lessening emotional ties and bonds which has led to increase in crime rates.
Man has become passionless to the environment that sustains him the creatures that support his life cycle and the well being of his colleagues who are a prime ingredient in his
social life.
May be he has become too self centered at his own cost .And who cares one who doesn't care for himself.
