Shumbha and Nishumbha are anger and lust and Raktabeej is our desires as if one fulfilled 100 more will surface.

Mahishasur is not our Ego(rajo guna)
He is our Id. (tamo guna)
The basic animal instinct is personified here.
That is why when Mata attempts to kill him.. the half born Human starts coming out of that Mahishasur (Symbolic)

*Ardha nishkraanta evaasi Devyaa veeryena samhritah*

Where as the Raktabeeja is nothing but personification of blood-borne diseases. And Mata here symbolised as Immune System which controls the blood infections. That roopa is recognised as Sheetala Mata.

And Shumbh-Nishumbh are nothing but our super human behaviour which can be understood by advanced technical or so called scientific brain which always considered as a danger to the nature.

The war occurred between Shumbha-Nishumbh & Mata perfectly picturises the futuristic star-wars.

I thnk If Mahishasur is our ego(one of the bad qaulity of a person).
then Shumbh-Nishumbh and Raktabeej should be also bad qualities of a person in hindi you can say Kaam, Krodh, Lobh, Moh.................

HMMMMMMMMM
Am I permitted to guess?
Shumbh -Nishumbh are lusty, ignorant and blind to Maata's power so I think they represent -lust, misleading desire, foolishness /ignorance / blindness and conceit
Raktabeej hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
he multiplies again no matter how many time he is killed until Maata drank his all blood and not a drop was left.So I think he represents ego because ego or ahamkaara is most difficult to get rid of and one has to fully eliminate ego ,not even a speck should remain if we want to get rid of i

edit- I think Rakhtabeej can also be desire. As many times it is fulfilled it multiplies unless its eliminated from the root.

EDIT- Yes anger and conceit too (Shunbh Nishumbh)

edit-thanks Chamunda for not givin me a thumbs down. I wonder which enemy of mine is giving me thumbs down!?
