Massage therapy is one of the best treatments for tight shoulders and stress. You would feel better immediately after a good massage.

Chiropractic treatment would also help get rid of the tightness and with a few treatments possibly eliminate the problem.

Place a moist heating pad across your shoulders for twenty minutes at a time. Afterwards apply an analgesic cream. This should help loosen the muscles.

Just try to not get so stressed out. Itll eventually cause headaches up the back of your head and radiate to your ear(s). Invest in a showerhead massager...they really alleviate muscle tension. What also helps is applying heat. Put some uncooked rice (NOT minute rice) into a big sock, tie the end, and microwave for about 2-3 min. Lie the sock across the back of your neck. The rice will stay hot for about 2 hours.

If they are chronic, then see your doc for medication. Excedrin Tension capsules REALLY help me out - just dont make a habit of taking them...only when you really need it. Feel better~!

a nice massage with a soothing balm will definitely help...is it a case of spondelisis? consult a doctor..

for now, take a nice hot shower with the focus on the pain area, get a nice massage with a soothing balm on that area to loosen up the nerves...

check your position while working on documents, writing or using a computer..use a soft pillow and check your position while reading or working in bed..

rotate your neck several times a day when u feel the pain beginning to creep up on you..

again, consult a doctor

when you have stress in the shoulders I find the thing that has helped me most is taking a brisk walk - taking advil -
sometimes ice works better than heat.

I have now purchased an at home stimulation machine - i just attach the electrodes to my shoulder muscles and it usually releives a lot of the pain.

the other thing that helps is regular massage or acupuncture.
