It is not safe or natural to lose that much weight, in that little time.
Better to loose 1-1 1/2 pounds per week if you want to keep it off long term, and do it with a healthy sustainable diet and a regular exercise program. Otherwise the weight could go back on almost as fast as it comes off!
So instead of concentrating on the weight aspect, try working on the fitness aspect more. Weight loss would then be a natural reaction to the increased fitness

There's no way you can safely do it. When you first start dieting and exercising, you might lose ten pounds in the first week, but it's just water weight. It's only safe to lose about 2 or 3 pounds a week, so it can't be done in a month. However, if you're going to boot camp, any excess weight you have will more than likely be worked off during your training.

You will lose weight in boot camp. It is a good idea to start getting in shape now though. You are going to be sluggish anyways. It is a complete change of pace. I went through boot camp in 1990 and even though I thought I was prepared I was not. The training made me lose weight quickly. You must remember though, you are going to be asked to do a lot and you don't want to be inundated with any possible medical problems. Go in as healthy as you can be so you can get out as soon as possible. Otherwise...it's holding company. Lots of luck. Serving your country feels great.
