Hon, you're depressed. You should find a therapist or another professional to talk to. It's understandable that you're feeling this way, and you should have someone to talk to. Some of the most stressful things that people can experience are moving away from family and losing a job, and you did them both in six months. You're overwhelmed, and this is your body's way of handling it. Please get some help.
Lots of love

Returning from overseas and not adjusting is called Culture Shock,or an adjustment disorder, among other things. You have been faced with a stress you were not expecting, and it has overwhelmed you.
The more your problems mount, the more changes you face in a short time, the higher your stress level goes. It's alot like Dominos standing on end. As one begins to fall, it pushes on the next, and the next.....
This is how depression can evade and overtake your life. If you have been crying daily for 6mo. now is the time to start turning that around for yourself. You've already tried "fixing it" yourself for the past 6 mo. Now it's time to get some help with what you have been unable to do for yourself. You can get "unstuck". You can put your life back on track. You can very likely, return to a normal range of emotion. Call your County Mental Health/ Behavioral Health Department.
Write down on a single page, your questions and a brief statement of what is going wrong, and for how long. Have the paper with you whether you call or go in.
If you are looking for a Christian Counselor, call 1-800-NEWLIFE. They have referrals all over the nation.

You are absolutely not alone on this. It's a common pattern in depression. I agree with the previous answer. You are depressed and since it's not going away by itself after a few weeks, it's clearly time to seek professional help. People put this off for a long time and it only gets worse. You lose all ability to see the other side and a resolution to your problem Therapist therapist therapist. See psychiatrist definitely, but maybe also a separate psychologist if you can't find a doc that will do more than prescribe drugs. But do take the drugs if the doc advises them. They are the fastest proven way to get back to a place where you see solutions as possible and your sadness and feelings of selfishness and worthlessness are pushed away. Find someone who cares about you and tell them you need them to drag you to the doc if you can't get yourself to do it this week. And I mean tomorrow. You will feel better, but you have to take that step. Contact people like me if you have trouble getting started.

It sucks, but girl, it doesn't make you a horrible person. I know what you're talking about and these times will take a while and feel like they'll never end. I promise it will, and in the end you will know why you went through this. You will find out who you're true friends are and you'll get another job when you're ready. When all is said and done you realize it didn't kill you, and if anything you are stronger and wiser for your mistakes and that's the type of person people are attracted to. You'll lose some things, but it's worth holding out till the end. Don't think "you don't know" or "it's different for me, I've really screwed up". Not everyone goes through what you are, and believe it or not you're one of the lucky ones in the end. I really hope you get through this soon, and please remember it'll be OK.

Go see your doctor a.s.a.p and let the physician know all you've been going through. Get a full physical, while you're there, and ask for a referral to seek counseling by a psychiatrist. If you feel too overwhelmed, by not being able to get in that appointment soon enough, seek medical attention at the E.R. they will be able to help you through these anxieties. It does seem like you've been enduring depression, and if so, it's been said if you suffer from depression longer than two weeks seek medical attention. I think you've far surpassed that time span. It's time to take action, and take care of yourself...don't hesitate. The sooner you get medical attention, the sooner, you'll feel better. You are reaching out...let them take your hand! Best to you!

I think that the best thing you can do at this point is look in your local phone book for a crisis hot line number. It sounds like your have been through an awful lot, you don't have to handle it alone. There are people who can listen and help you to find answers. Please don't give up, try to find the courage to pick up the phone and speak with someone who is able to connect you to services that you may need. You were able to share here, and that is a good start. Good luck to you. Remember, you are not alone.

I can't make a diagnosis, but you sound depressed. Some people do get depressed from hormone (thyroid) levels, as the last answer said. I have seen people alienate everyone they loved, and lose their jobs all because of a screwy thyroid. If you are stressed out, your stress hormones can make you feel like crap too. Please go see a doctor. Even if it isn't hormonal, he/she can help you feel better.

You need to go to a doctor. If you can't afford one, go to an emergency room. If it's an emergency, they have to see you. Tell them what you just wrote. You sound really depressed and can't see things will get better with help. Maybe you need medication to calm things down. It will help you deal with your life. They can help alot if you have an imbalance. It could be your thyroid making you feel this way. They can do a blood test. Please get help, you'll be glad you did.
