Should I be insulted?

Question

Ok, really weird, I graduated from high school 5 months before my Senior class mates and didn't go to graduation today. A couple weeks ago I called up an old friend (we ended hanging out right before I graduated and I guess he's still pissed at me because we were picking up chicks and he didn't get one and I did, anyways) so I called him 2 weeks ago and said "hey I met some chicks at a bone fire, wanna mess with them" he's pissed and he said "no".

Anyways, today he calls me and leave a message and the message is just him talking to some girls about me, I couldn't make out anything except "John called me 2 weeks ago to hang out with chicks at a bone fire" and "John always hits on girls and says 'hey ladies' as his lame pick up line" and I heard some unknown girl in the background say something like "wow he must not care about his girlfriend if he's hitting on girls" and my friend also said "he's lame hitting on 15 year olds" that's all I heard.

But the thing is, I'm not insulted , frankly I'm flattered they still even talk about me, is this unusual or what? I never see these guys and I have a very healthy social life but knowing that people are talking about me when I hardly even think about them simply flatters me.

So is this normal?

well, i wouldnt call taking the time to write that very long question hardly ever thinking about them. it must have bothered you if you asked this.. so, therefore i think your real question should you be insulted, not are you normal. and yes if my so called friends were talking **** behind my back then yes i would be insulted.

Then I think you ahve answered your own question. If you are flattered when people you don't even know talk about you, then no need to get pissed. Besides he may just be hating on you because your swagger is better.
However if you do have a girlfriend and you still hit on other girls that is simply uncool. Beware of a woman's revenge, I can promise it will be hell to pay.

sounds like a shitty friend. if it does not bother you then it does not bother you. thats good. it has no effect on your life so why worry about it. less stress for you so yeah sounds like you are very secure. so why change how you feel about a situation just cause most people would get all pissed and make a big deal out of something that is so insignificant. props to you:)

As a woman, I would be hurt if people talk about me negatively... but if it really doesnt bother u then ur a better person than most people. I dont know.. maybe u dont have issues like him and dont care what he thinks. Ur friend is an a--hole tho.

Actually yeah someone somewhere has probably felt like that, but he's probably jealous of you somehow so he sent that to you. He obviously has no life and must make a better one by trying(and failing) to ruin yours.
