i went to park in parking spot put on the brake then let it go a little further forward by letting of the brake and straight back on the car in front of me i touched his tow ball a four wheel drive .there was no damage done to his car as the plastic or rubber bumper on my car only touched his tow ball he is now trying to make a big false claim . this is the first accident i have ever had he also said he wouldnt claim he had no witness as he wife was shopping at the time but i had a witness in my car . i havnt reported it to my insurance cause i would have to pay $400 first and with a scratch on the tow ball i thought would not go over $1oo so any ideas what i should do ?

Report to your ins. co. In future regardless of minor damage insist on calling the police. Then you have a witness, an other person might back off on being a wise %$#.

Are there any video cameras in the parking lot that may have picked up the accident? This could be used to prove your case. If you haven't contacted your insurance, has the other driver? If so, your insurance may have a problem with you not reporting the problem. I would try to make contact with the guy and find out what his intentions are. Is he suing, filing a claim, exactly what he wants to do to work things out. If you feel confident that there was minimal damage(under 250.00)take photos of the guy's tow ball, and rear of vehicle and present them to your insurance company. They can assist you from there.
