I just had a baby a few months ago and had a mental breakdown at my ob gyns office. He and the nurses were so nice to me. He put me on Lexapro for post partum depression and I feel like a whole new person. Would it be cheesy to send him a thank you card?

:) I'm so glad everybody agrees and nobody made a bullsh*t remarks. If you want to know what to put in the notes, I use this site that's all about thank you notes and they have a page just for surgeons and dentist and general stuff. I'm glad to see you are doing better and CONGRATULATIONS on your new baby!!!!

Absolutely not. It was be GREAT to get a card. I'm an ob/gyn myself and would really appreciate getting something special like that. Don't be embarrassed.... postpartum depression is very common and I've had many women in my office crying. It's just a part of pregnancy. But, do let your MD know who special he was to you. It's the little things like that that brighten up the day and believe it or not, I still to this day have a note that someone gave to me and I read it when I need the little bit of encouragement.

It appears that you have a consensus. Sending a thank-you note would be a lovely gesture and would likely be a bright spot in the day of the entire office staff.
Congratulations on your new baby. So glad that you're feeling so much better now.

Not cheesy at all. In fact, I'm sure he'd be glad to have a follow-up message from you. Lots of doctors receive pictures of the babies they've delivered, and sometimes post the pictures on their office walls. So if you sent him a card about your own health, and if you enclosed a photo of your baby, I'll bet he'd be doubly appreciative.

Absolutely not! Doctors and nurses are very unappreciated, and I think that sending them a thank you card is an awesome thing to do!! You have to remember that they are people too, and that they would like a thank you card as much as the next person.

Not cheesy at all. I had to take a physical for my current job. I went to the employer's Dr. and they found something not really wrong but said I needed to get it cleared up with my personal Dr. before I could be hired. My personal Dr. couldn't get me in for three weeks. On a recommendation from a friend I went to a another Dr. and this man went out of his way to get the situation cleared up for me....because there was really nothing wrong. I had to see him twice and he only charged me for the one visit. I bought him a bottle of wine. He loved it. (as I'm sure the staff did.)

Absolutely not. They would love to get a note of appreciation.
On another tack check with the doc about adding fish or an omega 3 supplement to your diet. There is a lot of info on using that for ppd.

There is absolutely nothing cheesy about expressing gratitude. :) Sometimes, the smallest token of thanks can make the biggest difference in someone else's life. :)

Suggestion:
read & give the book
The Ant and the Elephant
by Bill Peet.
*This is also a really great book to have on your shelf for your children! :)

I think that would be a pleasant surprise for a doctor. I'm not sure if they get them a lot though, but i would have to guess that they don't get many cards, unless its a holiday. So definitely send one, and make sure you address it to the doctors, and the nurses.

Sending a thank you note would be great. It means you are really grateful to what they had done for you. You're just showing a sense of gratitude. There's no way that would sound "cheesy"
