If your old enough to be on your own and obviously would like to---Do it.
Talk to them about how you feel and you'll probably see that they want you to "Grow Up" and moving out on your own is a part of that. Of course it will be different but you can visit often and they will be able to visit you too at your new place... Maybe they would enjoy helping you set up house, etc.
If there's a problem with their health or something, then just don't move too far. That way, you will feel better since you can check on them anytime... Plus - they have the security of knowing that you are nearby.
My daughter is at my house more since she has her own place then she was when she lived at home!! Also, she calls A LOT!!!! I love our new relationship...
hope this helps

Don't be scared. Get the phone numbers and addresses of some friends, emergency numbers, and relatives. That way if anything comes up and your folks aren't home you have someone to call on the phone and talk to. Use numbers of trusted friends and relatives only. Try to get the phone number of the person, or people who just moved out of the place you are thinking of living in. Could be they had a good reason for moving out, or you could just talk to the neighbors.

If it is possible, get them to move into a Senior Community, where they can have people their age around. If either are ill, try an assisted living facility. They have medical personnel on staff 24/7.

If your fears are about two healthy parents, living in a good neighborhood, then your fears are unwarranted. Get over it and stay, or go!

I feel the same way. I live with my parents, and feel guilty about wanting to move out. But you can't live your life like that. Do what every one tells me. Call and check on them. You can always visit them as much as you can. Just because you aren't living with them, doesn't mean you will lose all contact with them.

Its your insecurity and fear, you are scared for yourself, not for them,so just shed it off and move on.

Why? You did not give enough information for anyone to advise you.
