The 6000+ is clearly the choice between those two. Not only is it faster, it is cheaper. This seems weird, but their is a reason. When the FX-62 came out, it was the fastest Athlon available, hence it had the FX name, which carries a big price tag. Then the Core 2 Duos came out, and AMD had to release the faster 6000+ to compete. They also had to cut prices on the new chips to compete. So we ended up with the abnormal situation of having the fastest chip, the 6000+, being less expensive than the flagship FX-62.

When compared side by side the x2 6000 is the better chip. It cost for just the chip around 250.00 usd. If your going to be buying a computer for things other than just hard core gaming, there really isn't any point in spending that type of money on a pc with that much power. You can a pentium d based pc from bestbuy or circuit city for around 500.00 put some extra ram in it and you'll be all set. If you are going to be playing some good games such as rainbow six vegas. Than I would get an intell based pc with a core 2 processor minimum 2gigs of ram. If you still can't really make up your mind. Then you can build a great gaming rig for less than 1200.00 and be able to use it for both. Try not to buy Dell, HP/Compaq as these manufacturers limit how far you can upgrade.
