i agree with the other answers here advise him to start doing the cat tasks if he is not already... feeding cleaning out litter giving treats playing etc.... maybe i know this sounds weird but get him to wear if poss if not rub one of say u nightshirts on himself his hands face neck etc so the cross scent from u to him will make her more comfortable with being around him.

do u know any background from her could she of had a bad experience with a man in her life?? my kitten was stood on by my ex bf (total accident) and is lucky to be alive!! she is now extreamly scared of men and clings to me as i do everything for her and have had to nurse her thro the accident and many health issues we put down to her being a stray.

hope this helps just tell ur bf to be very patient calm and have lots of love to give her slowly but surely im sure they will learn to love each other

First off, if you are comforting the kitten and consoling the kitten while she is with you then you are nurturing her clingy behavior. Have your boyfriend spend 1 on 1 time with the kitten playing and giving treats. She is still young so she should learn quickly. it's lucky she's still young because if she was older she probably wouldn't ever learn to like him.

I had the same problem with my 7 month old puppy that i bought a few months ago. He loved me and my boyfriend but didn't like anyone else. I went on vacation for a week and my boyfriends family watched him and when I came back he was GREAT with his family because while I wasn't there he went to them for affection and compaionship. You have to take yourself out of the mix every once in awhile and let your boyfriend spend time alone with the kitten so the kitten doesn't have the option to go to you and she will learn to like your boyfriend. Don't worry!

Well a lot of ppl seem to think the cat might change his attitude toward your bfriend and yourself.
My mom feeds my cat all the time, cleans his toilet, brush his teeth, I cut the claws coz he wont let anyone else near him for that...She spends most of the time with my cat since she works from home and I sometimes stay over at my bfriend's home.
But my cat will ALWAYS inevitably sleep with me when I am home (he wont sleep in my mom's room at all). He will only sit on my lap while I watch tv or am having dinner. He will come running at the door when I come in and ask to be rubbed and cuddled...He only does this to me. Sure, he will stay next to my mom, but never for really long. He remains calmer around me than her.
So, if the cat loves you, maybe there is a certain "cat feeling" toward you that may not change.

This is an interesting problem. The fact is that cats choose their people. For some reason, she has chosen you over your boyfriend. Try a few things:
- he feeds her, not you
- he gives her treats, not you
- he plays with her, not you
- put a shirt that he's worn into her bed
- a "kittymoon"; he spends the day at home with her, cuddled on the sofa... without you (sorry)

i'm prepared on leaving the cats pass outdoors, my cat is indoor/outdoors. yet you already know what, sorry yet confident, it may be merciless consequently. you already know that a cat this is packed with ability, and thepersistent to locate, is probable going to purpose and pass that street returned at some point. in case you're taking a kitten and you have a small place, risk is it is going to rapidly decide for to get out, and miaow continually in the back of the front door/window, or attempt to flee. on your subject i would not have a cat.... Or... in case you particularly reaaaaally decide for to have one, why no longer pass to a take care of, ask concerning the personnality/character of the cats they have, and notice if there is an person cat that would not be too adventurous, and could stay on your backyard/backyard, and indoors, and could be chuffed even in a small place. i'm constructive there could be some mature cats available in want of a good domicile (older cats), and that they could in simple terms savour the little bit of solar each now and returned, yet instruct no interest for the line, or exploring. i understand quite a few cats that stay interior the owner's backyard/backyard, all the time, even nevertheless they might pass everywhere in the event that they wanted. in case you will take yet another cat, in simple terms take it sluggish. the spectacular, settled, quiet cat might come your way in case you're affected person sufficient. think of a poor cat whose proprietor died, that maintains to be in good wellness, no longer as wild as a kitten, yet extremely needs a good domicile and somebody to love him//her. The poor element might in simple terms want a lap to take a seat down on interior the night, and a patch of sunlit grass to lie on for particularly daily. in case you have persistence, you will possibly be able to easily are available the time of that cat.

i am in the same boat as you. My boyfriend bought a cat for him because I already had 2. And his cat wont leave my side. I think it has to do with you probably spend more time playing with the cat and talking to it. It sucks but that is probably how it will be unless you stop interacting with the cat and he spends more time with it

he must start feeding her, cleaning her litterbox, playing with her, keeping her next to him when he works - if he works at home - or when he watches tv or is on the computer, speak with her, sleep with her, etc. Build a relation with the cat.

Have him be the only one to feed her and give her treats. Get special toys that only he uses to play with her.
