IF they were real, it would take mass ammounts of evidence to study. However, possible explanations could be... er... Overactive bodily energy, lots of stress, or other serious pressures on the body when it was in life, so much so that it was expelled from the body after death. (I know, rediculous, but...) Somehow creating some sort of.. ghastly anomoly.

My brother once told me that he thought if it isn't a ghost in your home then it must be the past that you are watching. I'll explain: When you see or hear about homes being haunted you hear that the ghost is walking from room to room and then disappears....without even looking at you it just walks down the hall or into the wall.....like it is a rerun of something??!! People say that some haunted houses have the same ghosts repeating the same thing over and over again. I thought it is possible to have something like that happen...What do you think?

There are plenty of other metaphyiscal explanations one can give without introducing deity into the picture. Perhaps emotions can leave an imprint on space-time that can be seen again under certain conditions. That's one hypothetical notion off the top of my head.
So I'd still be an "atheist" in the strictest sense of the word (one who does not believe in deity).

I would question what is meant by "if they were true" -- if it turns out that ghosts are a fact, then I wouldn't have a problem accepting it. However, if we can prove that weird things happen, then I'd accept weird things happening (but not necessarily attach some phenomena like ghosts to it).

Psychometric feedback. The person seeing the ghost is unconsiously picking up on psychic imprints that have been left in a certain area. The "ghost" is nothing more than residual emotional energy.
IF you believe in that kinda of thing, I don't

I always thought the definition for atheist is a person who does not believe in the existence of god? What does that got to do with paranormal activities? :P

I too do not believe in ghosts but I do believe in paranormal activity and believe it is a natural phenomenum that will one day be studied and measured by science.

No clue. It'd be pure speculation. I don't know enough about multiverse models, but there may be some point of contact between membranes between universes?
Who knows? That seems wildly speculative and not really worth much consideration.

That would prove the existence of an afterlife and nothing more.
This is of course IF, like god(s), ghosts are real.
