Was wondering if any correctional officers or people in related fields had any tips for a new correctional officer to move into the transport position?

I know its a privileged job position for a correctional officer at a jail/prison but I was wondering if anyone had any tips for moving into this job; such as ways to prove yourself more worthy for the job, tips for any tests or anything.

Thanks

I'm guessing you're talking about the statewide transports from prison to prison.
It is usually a popular slot in my department as well, however two of my friends skirted the "good ol' boy" system by starting to do ride alongs on their days off and getting thier names known by the Sgt. in charge. They had their names on his list for fill in slots in case one of the regulars called in sick.

Best way I've seen it done.
