No. The only way you can prevent them from breeding is to separate them when she goes into season.

Please wait until she is at least 2 years old before you breed her. Also do your research so you know what to do when the time comes.

When its time for breeding there ain't nothing stopping this except a kennel. It's nature and he will do anything to get to her, might as well get used to 3 miserable weeks every 6 months and even if you let them get together they will go on and on so you still must separate them at some point in time or they'll breed too much. I know they prob do that out in the wild but gee, we have some ways to curb this.

If you are not a breeder have both dogs fixed, that's the best Chasity belt you can find. Otherwise do a lot of research about breeding, smaller breeds have a lot of problems whelping, are you ready to pay c-section charges at your vet (sometimes more than a $1,000) and what are you going to do with the pups????? Look in the paper or go to on line pet sales, these dogs end up being sold for $50 just to move them.

A lot to think about before you decide to have that ONE litter.

Doggie panties DO NOT WORK, they are ment to protect your furniture etc from blood stains, a male dog can easily still breed with those on.

hi, yes you can by doggy pants and you can buy a spray to hind the smell of her season- but i have never tried it so i don't no if it works! She could start her season around 6 months, you will have a hard job keeping them separate, she is too young for breeding, you would have to wait until she is at least 16 months old.It is possible for your boy to to mount her in her first season, so you will have to be careful. Breeding chihuahuas is not easy because they are so small, you sometimes need a c-section which is around £500, so it would be better to have funds for her in case of any emergency before you try.
Good luck.

Why do you want to breed her? It can only negatively affect her health and there are plenty of unwanted puppies in the world already. I suggest keeping her healthy and happy by spaying her, then it's not a problem.

You can buy "panties" for the female, or seperate them. You can buy "panties" at any pet store for 10-15$
ALSO...All you people that freak at the word "puppies" and slam the one that mentions it need to get a life, people are going to do what they are going to do.
Its not so much overpopulation as it is BAD OWNER overpopulation- it was the owners choice to take the dog to the pound and not find a good home for it....
Dog in pounds are unwanted, not all people are going to drop everything they are doing and go adopt a mixed breed dog that has unreliable temperment, habits and problems/ health defects. SAD BUT TRUE- GET OVER IT

there isnt a chasitity belt or anythng like that but you can get doggie panties for when female dogs have their heat you can get it at any local pet store. it slips over their tail and ties on both sides of their waist. then the male dog can mount all he wants but aint getting in if the diaper is in place.

You may either keep them separated or, when they are together, have one or the other wear pants. You can find these pants online or in pet stores. The breeders who sold you the puppies should be able to mentor you in making choices like this.

You could try fitting a muzzle on that part of the dog if you're feeling adventurous. You could saran wrap the dog too, I guess.
