Yes, it is a term for beer...been around for decades. It's just slang, not a brand name.

Suds! You know the foam at the top of the beer mug! like soap suds. That is a very old terminology from my grandfathers day in Detroit & Chicago I know. They would say it quite often.

ya i've heard people use the word suds for beer as in "let's go down some suds." don't believe it's a brand name for beer at least not to my knowledge

Alcohol is considered a poison so your body reacts to that way. But the reason is the two main ingredients in beer is grain and yeast. well grain is a form of dietary fiber and the brewing process intensifies the potency of the fiber. The colon has bacteria that normally aide in digestion by fermenting sources of dietary fiber that could not be broken down by the enzymes in the stomach and small intestine. The alcohol in the beer possibly intoxicates the bacteria, causing them to not do their job properly. Absorption of water by the colon is disrupted because of the imbalance created by the onslaught of all the extra fiber juice and yeast. The yeast goes into overdrive with the slacking off of the good bacteria and multiplies rapidly, producing yeast waste which would appear as a frothy substance resulting in foamy diarrhea.
