Do I go in there and tell my story again and again and again?

It seems like crime victims stay victims forever because unfortunately, that is exactly what you have to do in order to keep the perpetrator behind bars. They force you to relive the very thing that you try to forget over and over again. People have tried to use written or recorded statements, and it is just not as powerful and effective as the actual victim testifying to keep the person locked up.

Yes. It's sad that one incident can truly destroy a person and never give that person any peace or a chance to heal. I'm sorry for you. However, in order to keep that scumbag behind bars, you will have to tell your story. It will hopefully help keep the person in jail, so he can't hurt you or anyone else again. I wish you luck.

I would think if you want this person kept behind bars that you would be happy to go and testify. I believe they Parole Board weighs your words heavily. Best of luck.

As long as you want to have your voice heard. No one else is going to advocate for you.
