I am pro-life and I get many thumbs down as well- but you know something that does not bother me at all. If a person chooses to abort- you do take a life of a child- even the abortion dr. would say that. A woman can choose to abort or not- that is true, even though I am pro-life. But my question here back to you is this- if you want to be pro-choice about abortion, please give us pro-lifers a choice to give you a thumbs down. I get many thumbs down about my answers to abortion- and it does not bother me in the least- because I know that I am standing up for the Lord and for these innocent babies. Go ahead- give me a thumbs down if you CHOOSE.

As a "Pro-Choice advocate it matters not to me the thumbs that I receive here. This is just a forum where individuals type.
Out in the real world where I am face to face with "real" people, I receive no thumbs down. I receive support for the RIGHTS of ALL to make their OWN choice.
I have come across only a few of the "Pro-Lifers" in my real world debate and they have nothing to offer, not even a home for the child in which they are trying to save!
Actions speak louder than words and all that there is here are words!
A thumb is only one digit of the five digit member of the family in the hand, there are four more members who have a say.....

No it is not just you.
It is not a figment of your imagination.
You will find on this forum that there are others who are closed minded in the possibility of change that all that they can do is give a thumbs down. They themselves do not have the courage to answer the question asked and hide behind the monitor and keyboard clicking their mouse as they go.
I myself would like to see the thumbers voice in writing their thumbs down, but that shall not happen for only us with true opinions and the courage to state it are the ones who have anything of value to say!
The Pro-life, Pro-Choice, answers you receive are the ones with courage who stand by and support their views.
Don't mind the cowards who have nothing to say outside of the click of the mouse.
EDIT: To X Theist,
As a Christian - I gave you a thumbs up!

Yep. The funny thing is, there is absolutely nothing about abortion in the bible. Leviticus mentions God telling Moses what a human life is worth (variable according to age) and babies are worth no money at all until they're a month old. The anti-abortion thing is a fairly recent development in our society. Before abortion was legal, infanticide of newborns happened at a staggering rate.
I work in a pathology lab and cannot even count the number of fetuses I've examined, they are a far cry from a baby, grossly and microscopically.
People get really upset over this one though. I don't think all of the rationality in the world can help them. They're on an emotional trip and want to make the rest of us suffer for disagreeing with them. I just do my part every election year to try to keep them at bay.

It is our responsibility as humans to speak out against corruption, injustice, and cruelty, wherever we find it.
It is not judgemental to call a thief a thief, nor is it judgemental to call murder, murder. Murder is the taking of one human life by another human. Abortion is the taking of one human life by another human. Calling it abortion does not change the characteristics of the action. "A rose by any other name..."
It is not my goal to shut anyone up or repress anyone. My goal is to state the truth, and by that means stop the slaughter of innocent children.
Regarding peer pressure, it is used and encouraged by people every day. There is peer pressure to quit smoking, peer pressure to not drink and drive, peer pressure to stay in school, etc. When someone is using peer pressure to benefit another person, what is wrong with that? Under other circumstances, that's what friends do for one another.
By the way, I never give thumbs down to Pro-choice advocates. They have as much right to speak as anyone else. It isn't the speaking that is the problem.

Let us point the light of logic at this issue. There is a disgusting procedure known as abortion. Basically, a developing fetus is dismembered and sucked out of the womb. So vile is this act that even those who claim to support it rarely speak its name. Most of those who have had this procedure are deeply ashamed. They prefer to hide it behind the nice clean cloak of "choice".
There are other people who believe that a developing fetus is a human life. They believe that this vile act is akin to murder.
Now whom do you suppose would be most passionate about this issue? Those who try not to think about it and sweep it under the "Choice" rug? Or the people who believe it to be the killing of innocent babies and are desperate to stop it?
For the record there is no such thing as believing in "pro-choice" you are believing in abortion.

Thoughts? Well, God gave us all free choice. But, a lot of people don't seem to understand my stance on abortion. I, personally, would feel I had done wrong if I had one. But, I am pro-choice. I believe God is pro-choice, as well. If He wasn't, abortions would not happen. I think it is a woman's right to have an abortion. It is also her right to have a baby. But, for *me*, it would be a sinful choice to have an abortion. I hope I made sense to somebody out there. Peace.

people generally do thumbs down what they don't agree with. I'd say that the people who are pro-life speak up here a whole lot more.

The thumbs up or down are opinions - isn't that the point? Why get upset over other people's opinions? I don't go slapping down opposing opinions unless they seem exceptionally evil or vile. I am really interested in hearing what other people think.
Don't like what you hear? Maybe you should re-think your beliefs. Check out...http://www.abortionno.org/abortion_no.html
