depends on your pet. some people like to do 2-3 meals a day. i feed only once a day. generally they will not need to use the little doggies room right away. though there is a reflex (gastrochloric i think its called?) that makes them feel they need to poo about 15 minutes after they eat. (humans have this too) depending on the age, you pet should be able to hold it for a few hours just fine. my dog can hold it longer than i can! but i dont think thats typical.

is this a puppy or an adult? if you are working with a puppy take them out about 20 minutes later. and just wait around while you gently walk the puppy. if you have an adult dog you will have to start about 20/30 minutes later and work from there...this is in regard to pee. sometimes it can take 1to 6 hours to poop just keep an eye on them if they start to sniff the floor and kind of wander in circles then take the dog out fast! Do not slap or rob dog's nose in the poop they will never learn. Put some pepples in an empty soda can and shake it when you need to correct the animal. Also don't allow water to remain as easy access to the dog ,leave down 20 min, every 2hrs for pup and every 4/6 hrs for adult dogs kept inside If they are outside all the time they can have water all the time. Good Luck just like people some learn faster then others. But DON"T slap/hit as a teaching tool.

They will usually have to go "potty" about 10-25 minutes after they eat.
The major sign is sniffing around on the floor or running to the back door. Then you should let them out immediately, because it is hard for dogs to hold their bladder.
You can feed him once or twice a day. Some people say twice is better, but I feed mine only once.
How old? If the dog/puppy is under 18 months then it will need to be fed 3 times a day.
If the puppy is under 18 months, that means they will have to go "potty" every 3 hours or so.

Dogs will normally poop about 20 to 30 minutes after eating but they pee pretty often unless you keep them in their crate, you can let him/her out to pee once in the morning before you go to work or school and in the afternoon as soon as you come in, and before you go to bed, you can take him/her out again. If the dog is small he/she needs to eat 1or 2 cups 3 times a day. Larger dogs can be given one feeding a day of 3 cups, however, I give mine 1 1/2 morning and the other half in the afternoon

Usually when they have to go they wait by the door, or they get a little bit antsy. So when you see this try letting them out, this usually happenes 10-25 minuets after they eat. A small puppy should be fed about 3 times a day, and it will go to the bathroom about 3-5 times a day. Hope this helped.

You should time your dog after each meal. It depends on how much the dog eats, how frequently he eats, etc. As for how much to feed him, just do a little research or ask the breeder. They usually know.
