I have one, and yes it does hurt the worst part is the hole closest to your head meaning the top one. But once you do it and you wait forever for it to stop being irritated like 6 months seriously then its worth it.
it only hurts a lot for like 1-2 weeks depending on your tollerance but after that its just irritating if it gets bumped touched or hair gets stuck in/on it
if you need more advice e mail me :) oh yeah go on a full stomach... because i didnt eat and passed out from my blood sugar :) - NOT THE PAIN

Okay, pain depends on you so if the others (done with guns I assume from your statement) didn't hurt in that sense this one wont. It's nothing like getting shot in the ear with a gun- it's easier. For this two needles must be used to get the alignment correct so it's not really faster but easier because the needle is quicker than a gun by a long shot. The whole process of marking and leveling to make sure it's correct for your ear to cleaning it up after piercing it takes about 10 minutes from what my piercer told me. Time and care should be taken, a bar pulling wrong is even more painful. Trust me on that one, I put a smaller bar in mine (I have an Industrial) and my whole ear hurt all the time so I took it out and put the original back in. They clean your ear like normal then mark where the holes will be with a marker and check it with a bar or a ruler or pencil, something straight to make sure it lines up. Next they put one needle in and leave it, which ever side doesn't really matter but my piercer did the bottom one first so that the little bit of possible blood wouldn't run down into her way for the second hole. Then they do the other one of course and slip the bar in through one and connect it and clean it. Really, it's not that bad at all. For me the most annoying part was the marking because her gloves are always cold! If you have any questions feel free to message me. I suggest that any you get after this are done with a needle though. The guns are not safe no matter what people tell you because the girls that do that don't have as much training and the gun is a blunt force trauma puncturing your ear but not removing the extra like a hollow needle used in a shop does. Anything done with a needle heals faster than something done with a more violent force. My industrial healed in about 3 weeks.

They use a hollow needle to pierce for an industrial. The hollow needle removes a bit of tissue to allow for a clean heal. A gun can shatter your cartilidge. Make sure you go to someone that does industrials on a regular basis. I had a professional in a tattoo studio do my industrial, and it hurt for about an hour. After that, I was fine. I had no problems sleeping on that side of my head right afterwards. I guess I am one of the exceptions because my other friends that have industrials, said they hurt like h#ll. Good luck.

for a start you should never let anyone pierce you with a gun - it causes massicve trauma to the skin and makes it harder to heal

industrial piercings are done with needles.
they mark the positions on your ear - then a needle is pushed through both sides of your ear.

i assume it does hurt more cause it is 2 cartilidge piercings in one.
