Yes, atheists have no morality, they were made by the devil and they are all evil!!!

Yes. Why? Because there will be no moral compass. A lot of people are advocating freedom of choice and respecting ones view.
We should always respect every individual but there has to be a line drawn or a limit. What is acceptable and what is not acceptable. Why do we need laws and regulations? If there weren't any laws, what is there to stop a thug from going to your house and stealing your stuff and killing your family. So we need a moral compass, and as a Christian we have a guide book which is called the Bible. Many people despise the Bible, and prefer the koran, or some other religious book. But think again, look at the vast majority of countries/cultures which are successful, modern and have got freedom of speech. Tell me are they all built on Islamic principles, Buddhist values or Hindu mantras? I am from a islamic country and man let me tell you. I would surely trade places with you, if I can!! So to those who say it is the rich nations that oppress and bully...I say poppycock. The reason we 3rd World, or underdeveloped nations are in such a state is because our leaders are UNDERDEVELOPED SPIRITUALLY. The Bible says, you are what you pray to.

I have a big problem with an atheist as president. This government was based on the premise that all men are created equal. They are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. This means that each and everyone of us, is endowed with the power to govern.

We each join together on election day and loan that power to the government in measured degrees. We get this and other rights from the Creator not from any government. That means it does not come from any government and cannot be taken away by any government.

It is based on the concept of moral absolutism. It puts God at the top of the pyramid and the government below. It presupposes the Creator as the final moral authority.

Atheism does not recognize any creator. It does not accept any moral absolutes. It believes in moral relativism. Moral relativism removes God from the top of the pyramid and places man at the top. This cancels out the very concept that this country is based on. With no creator, there cannot be any unalienable rights. Only rights granted by government and removable by government.

This is why socialism absolutely forbids any religion at all. Atheism is mandatory. This is so the government can do whatever it wants relative to what it perceives the best move to be without any pesky moral absolutes to get in the way.

I used to consider myself a Christian, now I've sort of become an atheist...I don't really think ANYONE has the right religion. But anyways, NO, I think ti would be GREAT if there was an atheist for the president. Because as it is right now, people vote for the person who is most like them...Christians voted for Bush because he talks about God, hates abortion and doesn't like gay people. I think religion and religious views should have NOTHING to do with running a country.

religion is in politics . i would love for the pres to not be christian. people rally in the streets over gay rights that are so wrong in "gods" eyes , debate on abortion because "the bible condemns any form of murder"' face it folks. even down to the way your representative votes senator etc. their choice leans on what they as christians believe. id like some fresh eyes personally. gay people shoud not have to be joined in"union" they should be MARRIED. read the constitution.the bill of rights.....SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE. two people......not a man and a woman. this is descrimination. just cause you dont think a man and a man were supposed to be together doesnt mean they shouldnt be able to. they are good familes for children that need to be adopted or for femme couples to be had on their own. whether or not you have a baby or not should not be judged by everyone else's religion. it shoudl be guided by YOUR OWN. athiest. taoist christian whatever. dont impose YOUR beliefs onto me just cause YOU think its right.

no. the us would not be destroyed if an athiest was pres. nor if a black person was pres. nor if a woman was pres.

i stand by my country. i only want the best for it. and i hope we get an atheist leader or an unbiased one. i dont vote for the man or the woman or the black man or the white man. i vote for the most OBJECTIVE MAN.

ok ill get off my soapbox now :)

Not if the current damage done by the present Christian is any guide. I think an atheist, or better an agnostic would be more likely to pull the place together a bit more.

Well in revelations (at the end of the world ) there is going to be a atheist was going to become pres. of Iran and he would make a army undefeatable for the U.S.A. to fight and that he would be able to rule the world and make all people mark on there selves his number on there neck 666 and as the bible says there are going to be 7 horrible things happen then the world is going to end and he and him taking over the world will be the end of the world. And it also talks about how his army is undefeatable and he would become so strong he will be undefeatable and he would make people serve him but i do not think he will take over the USA i pray china japan even Mexico and Russia will combine there army's and find a way to defeat them and enough technology hopefully

Yes, I do believe we would be faced with tougher problems than we already face everyday. Think about it.. When prayer was taken out, all the school violence began,I'm not saying there wasn't a little here or there, i mean the really bad stuff started.
God comes before anything, even in todays world we are faced everyday with situations we can not handle,I turn to God, If we take God out who would we turn too?I'm really scared just thinking about it. For any one who is not saved i strongly suggest finding the Lord, because he is the only one who can and will save you. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, I can also tell you from ALOT of personal experience i would be no where if not dead without him.Love him, Obey him, Fear him, after all he is your father. never forget he gave his life in return for saving yours. No one Else has ever done that for me.

Some of them probably do, but those of us who aren't Christian would be quite happy to see a President who might be willing and able to smack down some of the more intrusive legislation proposed by the so-called Religious Right.

My cousin is atheist and she is one of the smartest people I know. So no I don't think it would. She is going to Cornell University and was second in her class. She is not a criminal and is not evil. She would make a GREAT president.

i don't think the US would be destroyed. Why would the disbelief of one man bring the wrath of god on the US? There have been a lot of Godless "leaders" who claimed to believe in God and they ended up putting their nations and their people in jeopardy. A leader(Hitler, Amin, etc.) who tortures and kills in the name of God is far worse than a leader who doesn't believe in God but leads with the intention of doing good for his nation and it's citizens.
