one exercise that I love to do is lay on my back close my eyes...count slowly backwards from ten and take deep breaths and make your mind go blank. as your mind gos blank with your eyes still close imagine a ball over you some what like and orb of light. doesn't matter the color but go with your first thought of color. imagine the light coming of the orb to your body...let it run to your head three times, then your neck three times and so on. then after you reach your feet let it run around the outside of your body three times. . . . . it's meant to be a healing meditation exercise...puts me to sleep but it helps to relax me. When I cant sleep because of stress I always use it!

i love meditating. meditating is a very hard thing today and there are many different types of it. basically you try to dream while being awake.
one good way of meditating for stressed people, is to look back on your day and see what you did. see if you can improve anything or go back to a happy moment.
one of the most important things about meditating is being in a comfortable position. i also enjoy being in a nice environment such as next to a creek or on a hill.
just practice it and you will eventually be able to do it very well.

The first thing you need to do is lay on the floor, on the back with your palms up. Think on your body, starting with the feet relaxing each before going on to the next. This you do until you reach the head. You constrate but do not go to sleep. When have done that, you go to the sitting. Let all cares drift away.

A quick way without too much instruction...

Draw a tub of warm water, sink in till your face is just above the surface, tyring to float as much as possible.

Ideally, get your ears below the surface. Then just concentrate of listening to yourself breath. After a while, the extraneous thoughts will begin to fade.
