Okay so know that I know a lot more about the Infinit G35 and the Lexus IS 350 which comes more highly recommended, and are used ones just as good?

I don't want to pay all that tax for a new one, I already did that w/my sports car.

I guess you are talking about the G35 sedan, in which case I'd rather have the M35 which is much nicer looking and rarer with pretty much the same price as the IS350. I really hate the way Lexus trys to trick you with these stripped down IS models at low MSRP, only to find out you could spend $10K on options. Anyway, the BMW 335i is also about the same price as the M35/IS350. The only thing I can tell you is to test drive each and see what your heart tells you since all 3 are wonderful cars that will put a smile on your face for a long time.

If you want better value get the G35 because you get the same power as a Lexus IS350 for a cheaper price. A top of the line G35 at the most is about $35,000. A top of the line IS350 is almost $50,000. In the G35, you also get more room.

If you like the IS350 you can get it. It is a great car because I have been in one. The G35 is also reliable. It is true that the lexus might be a little more reliable, but if you maintain ths G35 well, you will see little differences in reliability and quality. The IS350 is an excellent car, don't get me wrong, but I think the Infiniti G35 or the new G37 coupe is a far better value. If you check Consumer Reports, Car and driver, motor trend, and other dependable sources you'll see that the G35 has actually won more awards and praises from drivers and editors. Either car you choose, no matter what, you are going to get great cars, I just think that the G35 is a better value. At least you are not caught up in the European car fiasco.

The Lexus is a lot better car reliability wise but is a very generic body style. The Infiniti is a more "stand out" body style whether it is the G35 coupe or sedan.

In my opinion, the Lexus is better. The G35 is nothing more than a Nissan altima or 350z. The IS 350 was built from teh ground up as a Lexus, not a Toyota. There is no comparable Toyota so the person above me has their facts wrong.

The Lexus interior is better, the acceleration is better, the handling is better, the sound system is better and, in my opinion, it looks better.

I think its gonna come down to what you like better... The lexus has more horsepower but is also heavier (though the g35 has 298 horsepower if you get a manual transmision vs the lexus' 306 horsepower)... the g35 is also available with AWD... and the lexus is more expensive has less leg room and worse MPG...
personally, i don't really like lexus... they're just fancy toyotas, and toyota as a company is pretty boring and unimaginative... Infiniti on the other hand isn't looking to outdue the luxury companies of japan but are looking to take out BMW, arguably the best/most desireable luxury sport brand out there... i just feel like they have more personality and style

but here's some numbers for you... this is a comparison off of vehix.com

Keep in mind this is the IS 350 vs G35, both brand new

As configured, the MSRP is $4255.00 greater ($35705.00 vs $31450.00).
i.e. the lexus is $4255 more expensive than the infiniti etc etc

26 more horsepower (306 vs 280).

Passenger Front-Impact Airbag on/off switch not available, versus standard.

Daytime Running lights standard, versus not available.

Power mirrors not available, versus standard.

Heated mirrors standard, versus not available.

21 less miles cruising range in the city (359.1 vs 380).

41 less miles cruising on the highway (478.8 vs 520).

3 gallons smaller gas tank (17.1 vs 20).

4.7 inches smaller wheel base (107.5 vs 112.2).

6.4 inches less length (180.1 vs 186.5 which may be a disadvantage).

2 ft. tighter curb-to-curb turning diameter (33.5 vs 36).

3.0 inches less rear legroom (30.6 vs 33.6).

78 pound(s) more base curb weight (3527 vs 3449).

10 fewer cubic ft. of passenger space (88.3 vs 98).

BUT if you do wanna buy something new, wait till next year to get the G37 which will be giving the BMW 3 series a run for its money
