This is a good question, if it is not meant to be silly, because you can get a variety of people making a conscientious effort to answer it, and a variety of people to simply get the 2 points for answering even if it means typing absolute nonsense.
I think the origin of prayer is empowerment, because prayer even if it offered an auto-suggested or psycho-somatic resolution to a problem, it convinced the practitioner of the prayer to try it again.
I've had a dream where I was being chased by something like a ghost or vampire, which was more powerful than I was, until I prayed and suddenly, I had the power to make all ghosts and vampires absolutely terrified of me, which I enjoyed doing in the dream for a while, until I felt a kind of compassion even for them and let them go, but kept them at a distance and made them flee as soon as I got close to them. This made me think after I woke up that the prayer had an empowering function in my life.

First, you must define what you mean by prayer. Every religion has its own form of "prayer" from meditation to actually speaking to their God, directly or indirectly. Depending on who you speak with, they might say prayer began with the early Jews sacrificing animals and offerings to their God. Other religions have forms of prayer, but in every case I can think of, they are actual more a form of meditation, not what I personally would classify as prayer. My own belief is that prayer came from our own desire to speak to our higher power, no matter if that higher power is the God of Christians, Jews, Muslims, Native Americans, or any other faith throughout the world. We all feel the need to reach out to that which we believe created us. We strive for a connection to something beyond what we can see.

Definition of prayer, an English word, is to ask or petition. It did not originally mean worship.

I would say the first prayer was said by a really scared caveman in the middle of a storm who survived, who wanted to have a hope to survive it and who thougth that whatever he had done actually had some influence, enougth for to transmit it to next generation and so on.

That's a good question. I would have to say it started in the garden of eden since that's where the first man and woman was made and told to live and replenish the Earth by god.

Humanity has always been impressed by the powers shown in nature, from the sun and moon etc. They have regarded them as revealing supernatural powers to whom they can speak, entreat, and ask things from - that is - to pray to.

The real pray is to worship the creator of the universe(God almighty),But many peoples worship his creations which is completely wrong,God is image less and no one has seen him,But he send many massage to us, through his messengers And commandments to guide us to the right path, He showed the right way of worshiping him, He alone deserve worship, We should not associate any partner to him, It's very big sin to associate partner to him, In my view The Islamic way of worship is perfect, They dont worship any idols gurus or prophets, they worship true god and follow his commandments,

I would say it would go as far back as ancient Eygypt and Muslims and stuff. But people started taking prayer into perspective as a "I want, I want, I want," statement from the bible.

Since the beginning of man. We are all God's creation and deep inside us is a hunger for our Creator.
Peace and blessings!
