My wife and I once had a 1987 Nissan Maxima with automatic transmission and 129,000 miles, and, after we took it in for a recall servicing on the fuel injectors, we immediately took it on a trip from Texas to Ohio and back, and I drove . . . well, at an excessive rate of speed let's say, and I didn't have anything new on it except maybe whatever they did with the fuel injectors, and we did great! With the description you give of your car, helll, I'd take it from ny to san diego and back and not sweat one bit at all. Just make sure your tires are good, including the spare. I'd hate one simple thing to mess up an otherwise memorable trip. God Bless you.

Just make sure the cooling fans run because Florida is hot and humid. Check the condition of the tires and radatior coolant level. A/C Has to be cold too. Freeway is easy on cars stop and go for 18 years is tough on cars.

if it was mine id drive it down their i drove an old Nissan sentra down there with over 160 thousand miles on it with no problems at all,i would have it checked out real good before i left in it ,other than that your driving a very dependable car,i don't think there would be any reason for it to cause any problems as long as its not giving any right now,it should be alright, but just have it checked out real good, that's not a lot of miles for that old of a car to have on it,so it would do as good as a newer model one would, good luck with it,i hope you enjoy the trip.
